I’ve been getting a bunch of texts from 08436450000 about my car’s guide price being £10,285. Thing is, I’ve never purchased a car from these people and honestly don’t even have a car right now. They can just hold onto their cars, I’m not interested.

I got a text saying my appointment was set for Swansea on 1st October 2016 at 1pm, with a number to ring if I have questions: 08436450000. It’s supposedly from WeWantAnyCar.com. I've never used their site and I'm actually based in Manchester, so this feels dodgy to me. Sounds like a scam to me.

I got two texts saying I’ve got an appointment booked as well. Thing is, the location’s miles away from where I actually live. Strange one!

I've had something similar happen, but my story is a bit stranger. The call came through on my mum's old mobile, which she passed away about eight years ago. We kept the phone switched on just in case of emergencies. Only three people have ever known that number - me, my partner, and the network provider, O2. O2 insist they've never shared the number with anyone else. Neither me nor my partner have ever told it to anyone either (I actually have to dig through my notes whenever I want to top up the balance). So, who's fibbing here? Considering we've been together for 47 years and can't recall the number ourselves, it's not exactly rocket science to figure out who’s been careless with that info, right O2?
