I called the number and got an automated message that just said “thanks for your confirmation,” then the call abruptly ended. It didn’t say who it was from or what it was about, no company name or anything. Honestly, I have no idea what they wanted confirmation on. I even contacted my phone provider but they couldn’t track the origin. Definitely think twice before calling back.

They say they’re from the British Council, which is a genuine group but these people are total frauds. They tell you you’ve won a prize of up to £1000 and then push you to ring a premium rate number to get the money. If you’re daft enough to dial that, they’ll next ask for your bank info to “transfer” the winnings, but really you’re just handing over your details to scammers. Best thing to do is just block or ignore calls from these numbers. Don’t fall for it and look after yourself.
