I've just had a rather annoying experience with a persistent automated caller. As soon as I picked up, the line went dead! When I attempted to ring back, I was greeted by a dreadful quality voice recording that proceeded to inform me about some £5,000 compensation claim I apparently qualify for. But then it quickly contradicted itself by stating that if I hadn't suffered an accident or injury in the last two years, I'd need to press nine to opt out of their database. To top it off, my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so I shouldn’t even be receiving these bothersome cold calls in the first place! Quite infuriating, to say the least.
