Total scam! They were trying to trick my elderly mum into letting them get into her computer. Left this number for me to ring back!

somebody called me claiming to be sandy martin from bt tech support, they said they were from 81 u gate street in london. when i told them they were full of it and a bit shady, sandy got quite hostile. they warned me my wifi would be cut off within two days if i didn’t let them into my computer. i told them to quit targeting people who might not know any better.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent who mentioned the name Johnson and some ID like ec008. They claimed there were issues with my router and asked me to go online so they could fix it. The number they told me to ring back looked really suspicious.

Got a weird call outta nowhere telling me to log onto my computer so they could show me some hacking attempt from Nigerians. Felt real dodgy to me.

We got a call from 843 504 800, seemed like from abroad. The person gave some generic BT address on Newgate Street, something I guess you can just find easily online. Honestly, felt a bit dodgy to me, like maybe they were trying to fish for info or something else. They also didn’t put the first zero in our phone number, probably not knowing how UK numbers usually look. Pretty suspicious overall.

some guy called saying his name was andy martin from bt, telling me the internet would be off for a couple of days. he asked me to sit in front of my pc and turn it on so he could 'show the issue’. then he started telling me which buttons to press! seemed really fishy, so i just ended the call.

It appears we've received a rather dubious call from someone named Sandy Martin, claiming to represent BT regarding an internet issue. The number they used was 08435040080. However, I'm pleased to say that our connection is absolutely fine, and we won't be returning the call.
