This afternoon, my 92-year-old mother received a rather dubious call regarding some sort of washing machine repair. She politely informed the caller that they should ring back later. Around half past six, I, her son, picked up a call from the same number. I remained silent, unable to discern what the message was or which company was behind it, and before I knew it, the line cut off abruptly. It’s quite frustrating, really; these individuals should be held accountable for their actions. Despite her number being on the Telephone Preference Service, it feels as though that’s a pointless endeavour.

It makes me ponder what they could possibly want; it certainly doesn’t seem important enough for them to actually explain themselves. This lack of transparency raises my suspicions.
