They called our primary number asking us to verify our email address but were rather coy about revealing their identity. We decided to hang up on them instead.

I informed them that the person in question wasn’t available unless I had a bit more information, and surprisingly, they didn’t take that well. Just as I thought the conversation was over, they rang me back almost immediately. All they would divulge was that it was concerning a 'personal issue.' I made it clear I didn’t wish to be contacted again. I can't shake the feeling that this has all the hallmarks of a scam.
