They asked me to ring back a number, 02084958123, and to share my personal details such as name, address, phone number, and postcode. However, after providing my information, I was told that my account couldn't be activated and to try again later. It's quite suspicious, isn't it? It feels like a cunning scheme where they can contact you again, pretending to represent Sky, already armed with your details. The moment you express interest in an upgrade, they swiftly start asking for your bank information. It's all very dodgy, to say the least!

I haven't answered this number yet, but they've tried to reach me four times today! Being registered with the TPS, I only respond to calls from known contacts unless I’m awaiting a specific call. I'm a bit concerned after reading the initial comment about possible scamming involving our details. How did that person identify it?

We’re in the same boat! This number calls us every day, just a silent ring before hanging up. It's infuriating! We’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service and have lodged complaints because we’ve been inundated with calls from 0845 and 08433 numbers too. And to top it off, we’re ex-directory! We're planning to reach out to Sky since nobody seems to be on the line when these calls come through. It's becoming quite the nuisance!

So, I decided to contact Sky, and they assured me that it wasn’t them making those calls. They mentioned that this sort of thing gets recorded and that numerous others have been querying the same issue. Honestly, what’s the point of having your number concealed if these people are just passing it along to various companies? It’s infuriating!

I’d urge everyone to steer clear of this number! They’ll call up, ask for your name, and then just hang up. It’s best to ignore any calls from this lot. If you find them contacting you, there's a good chance someone's trying to pull a fast one using your details. Make sure to give your bank a call right away and consider reporting it to the authorities as well. Stay safe out there!

This number has been ringing us incessantly since the weekend, at least thrice a day, and it’s really beginning to drive us round the bend! On the rare occasion we did pick up, the caller asked for us by name, but as soon as we inquired about who she was, the line went silent. It certainly had the feel of a call centre with all the noise in the background. Given that we’re with Sky, it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s them trying to sell us yet another service or deal!
