I had pretty much the same thing happen to me with a letter that looked like it came from Lloyds Bank. The phone number on it was an 0843, which I didn’t recognise, so I rang their official telephone banking line to check. They told me they hadn’t sent anything like that letter. While I was waiting on hold, I looked up the number online and stumbled on this site that said it’s a scam. Looks like phishing scams are stepping up and coming through the mail now. Be careful out there!

I got a letter with the Lloyds Bank emblem on it, but something was off about it - didn't seem like the usual mail I get from them. The paper was really thin and the print was a bit blurry, not what I’d expect. The letter said there were some strange transactions on my account and asked me to ring the number given. I rang the Lloyds fraud department straight away and they told me it was a fake.
