My dad, who’s getting on a bit, fell victim to the very same con recently, but thankfully the bank stepped in and provided fantastic assistance to rectify the situation.

My elderly mother received a call from this number, claiming to represent her bank. They stated there was an issue with her account and asked if she could provide some personal information. When she mentioned that she would visit the bank the following day, they insisted that was far too late and pressed for the details that very evening. They even provided her with a number to call back if she felt concerned. She promptly rang me, thankfully revealing that she hadn't shared any information. I assured her I would look into the number and confirmed it was indeed a scam. Her bank would never reach out in that manner. I'm relieved she didn’t divulge anything, but I can’t help worrying about what might happen to someone more susceptible in the future!

Looks just like one of those bank scams, I reckon. All the others are spot on about it. Sounds really believable to me.

This definitely seems like a scam. They acted really professional but it’s just a ploy to get your bank info. They claim to be from the bank’s fraud department.
