On the evening of the 7th of January 2013, just around half past five, I received a rather unsettling call on my mobile, urging me to get in touch with Debt Management. Only a select few have access to my number, yet, given that my grandson is currently grappling with financial difficulties, I felt compelled to return the call. To my surprise, they had the wrong date of birth for me, but they did mention my daughter's address, which raised quite a few alarm bells, even though I refrained from acknowledging it. It's quite troubling how they seem to have linked my mobile number to my daughter's home. It’s rather hard to believe that this could be just a mere fluke, don’t you think?

Received a phone call from this number, requesting that a certain individual gets in touch with them ASAP about reference 71379102. It was an automated message that made it sound rather urgent, but they didn’t allow for any direct communication during the call - I would have had to ring back. Not entirely sure what the charges would be for calling that number, but considering I suspect it's a scam, I opted to ignore it. From what I’ve come across online, it seems to be linked to debt collectors. Funny enough, as much as I’d like to be in debt, I simply can’t afford it! Plus, without a regular income, getting a credit card is out of the question!

Received an automated voicemail from this number purporting to be from “Sam Debt” - very peculiar indeed! The message requested a certain "Brian Sedgewick" (definitely not me) to ring them back on an 0843 number. It’s quite likely a scam aimed at fleecing unsuspecting folks.

I've been inundated with a barrage of calls, and it seems these particular numbers - 01709537281 and 0843 216532 - are behind it all. Each time, I’m greeted by the same robotic voice spilling out a recorded message. Curiously, they keep mentioning a chap named ‘Mr Paul Roberts’, someone I’ve never come across in my life. They always prompt me to hit either button 1 or 2 to connect with their debt collection agency. It’s an absolute scam; there’s no other way to label it!
