They're just tryin to keep you on the line as long as they can so they can charge you like 6p a minute or something. It’s a total scam, they make loads of calls and rack up the bill on your phone. They make their money by keeping you waiting and making lots of calls from their side.

Seems like I've stumbled upon a bit of a dodgy situation here. When I tried to call this private number, I got a rather suspicious message claiming the number had been altered. It even went as far as to instruct me to dial another number.
Now, I notice that many others are in the same boat.
This really ought to be blocked, dealt with, and sorted out pronto!

Upon reviewing my statement, I noticed a charge of £3.39 for a call lasting 18.28 minutes to this number. It’s quite puzzling, as we never engage in conversation with unknown callers. I’m rather baffled at how this occurred! 😡

I rang up HMRC only to hear a recorded message stating that their number had switched to 08431550400. So, I decided to give it a go. I was greeted with another message about how incredibly busy they were, but I held on, bracing myself for the inevitable phone bill. It makes me wonder, how on earth do they manage this?

Got a call from 01753265210 telling me the number switched to 08431550400. When I tried to reply, they just put me on hold. Looks like it might be from the Slough region. Don’t bother calling it back.

I was just sitting patiently for my hospital appointment when the phone rang. Unfortunately, the call got dropped. Once I dialled 1471, I discovered that the number had apparently changed. That raised a few alarm bells, so I decided to hang up after about a minute. Curious, I did a bit of digging and found these comments. Definitely feels a bit dodgy!

My elderly mother, who is 84 years old, received a call from the number 0161 416 6351. Upon picking up, she was informed it was her bank and that an attempt had been made to withdraw £400 from her account. They then instructed her to call another number for further discussion (0843 155 0400). After the call ended, she dialled 1471 and discovered the Manchester number again. It turns out it was a scam; the line was automated, and she was put on hold waiting for an operator who never seemed to be available. It's utterly disgraceful how these crooks target vulnerable seniors and the wider public!

I rang PFP Energy and was advised to dial 08431550400, which they said is their updated contact number. However, after waiting for a quarter of an hour with no response, I decided to give up. Let's just hope this isn't one of those dodgy scams!

I was attempting to reschedule my hospital appointment and the system instructed me to call 0843 155 0400. After being on hold for a whopping 20 minutes, they simply disconnected the call! I looked up the number here, so now I'm just left anxiously awaiting the phone bill.

I just spent a staggering 40 minutes on hold, and now I’m staring at a BT bill that’s £9.72 more than I expected! What a complete shambles! I originally reached out to Pembrokeshire Council, so how on earth did this happen?

My wife rang up HSBC and ended up being transferred to this number. She was kept waiting on hold for so long that she ultimately lost her patience and hung up. Honestly, she could still be there, pouring her life away! It's clearly a dodgy setup. I only clocked onto it when the bill arrived, showing a cheeky £7.50 for half an hour of waiting. What a con!

I recently rang Ticketmaster using the number listed on their official site. The line was engaged at first, but when I called back, it informed me that the number had been updated to 08431550400. That seemed a tad dodgy, so I took the liberty of doing a quick search here - glad I did!

I reached out to the customer service line for the OBB train company in Austria and received an automated message informing me that the number had been updated to 08431550400. When I dialled this new number, I was placed on hold, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The original contact details for OBB are clearly listed on their official site and are also included in the Interrail information. A quick online search brought the unwelcome realisation that this new number is associated with a scam operation. I'm quite irked by this situation and, unfortunately, it seems I’m left without any viable way to contact the Austrian train services by phone!

Today, I rang Scottish Gas only to discover that their number has been altered to 08431550400. I waited on the line for a staggering 25 minutes, eager to connect with them. However, I've now learned from BT that I've been slapped with a £5 fee for the call. It seems this number doesn't even belong to Scottish Gas. Just a heads-up for anyone else-be cautious!

I never even intended to dial this number! I was trying to get in touch with a builders' merchant when I received a recorded message informing me that their number had been updated to 08431550400. Naturally, I gave it a call and ended up waiting on hold for what felt like an eternity-nine minutes, to be precise. Just a moment ago, I hopped onto the Vodafone site to review the usage on my children's lines and was absolutely gobsmacked to discover some 'out of package' charges amounting to over £6. What really irked me was finding out that it was linked to this 08431550400. It’s obviously just a dodgy number looking to rip people off. Oddly enough, it’s also not appearing in my call history! I’m certain I dialled it, though-I’ve got the number jotted down right here on my desk. I've taken the liberty of storing it in my contacts as "SCAM", so I’ll be sure to steer clear of it in the future!

I tried ringing the local council on their usual number but was informed it's been switched to 08431550400. When I rang that new number, all I got was an automated message saying "line is busy please hold while we connect you" with no info about who I was calling. I stayed on the line for about ten minutes before giving up. Really annoying as the first number was meant to be for the local rehab team.

I had a curious encounter with a caller from this number claiming to represent BT. To be honest, I was quite sceptical, so I ended the call sharpish. However, I began to fret that maybe I'd acted a tad prematurely. The number that popped up on my caller ID was different, so out of sheer curiosity, I tried giving it a ring. To my dismay, a recorded message informed me that the number had been altered to the one shown above. I chose not to return the call as a precaution and instead opted to do a quick online search. I stumbled upon a few comments that hinted it might all be part of a scam. Better safe than sorry, I suppose!

I've attempted to reach out to two different numbers, both of which turned out to be outdated. The second time I called, I was redirected to 08431550400, and it raised my suspicions. The fact that the first two numbers were located in completely different regions made me think there could be some sort of interference affecting the connections. Best, M. Cross
