Just to chime in on what’s already been mentioned: It’s definitely Vanquis. Caller: "Hello, could I speak to *my full name* please?" Me: "That's me! How can I assist you today?" Caller: "We’d like to ask a few questions, but we need to conduct a security check first." Me: "Well, hang on-you're the one who rang me?" Caller: "I understand your point, but it's necessary to verify your identity." Me: "Yet you initiated the call! What’s this all about then?" It appears to be Vanquis Bank I'm dealing with. The conversation mirrored my experience with Ash, but there was a twist. I specifically mentioned that I would only disclose certain details and not everything. For instance, when he inquired about my date of birth, I disclosed the month and the year only. This number has rung me 13 times over the past six days, even on Sunday, at all sorts of hours, the earliest being 7.42 am. I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of marketing company because I answered once a few months back and it was a firm claiming to be Vanquis Visa. They were pushing some monthly subscription with discounts for shops and services, but it all sounded like rubbish to me. Honestly, I’d advise anyone to just block or ignore this number if possible. They’re seriously getting on my nerves with all their calls.

I got a call from someone today but I couldn't make out what she was trying to say, so I just hung up. She did know my name though, and I’ve got a Vanquis card. I paid it off last week, so not sure if it was actually them. She mentioned something that sounded like “vain” or similar, I asked her to spell it but still no idea what she meant! Proper frustrating!

I’ve even tried changing my own number a couple of times but it doesn’t help. Honestly, this should be illegal, like if someone harassed you like this in person it would be against the law. So why do these calls keep happening with no consequences? I really hope the government steps in and introduces laws to stop this invasion of privacy in people’s own homes. I dashed out of the shower to grab the landline, but of course, I missed it. I then returned to my shower only to hear my mobile ring. With wet hands, I opted to let it ring out. Missed that one too, and lo and behold, no voicemail was left. Not long after, a colleague from work called me to inform me that someone had been trying to reach me at my workplace. Just a reminder, I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and I made it very clear to Vanquis that I’m not interested in their pesky PPI offers. If they dare to ring me again, I’ll have no choice but to get in touch with OFCOM to report them - and I shall be cancelling that utterly pricey credit card of theirs without hesitation. Honestly, in my view, these companies are nothing short of parasites.

A caller rang looking to chat with my daughter, who wasn’t around at the time.
