Yep, I can verify this is a Thames Water number. After reading all the negative comments, I decided to email Thames Water to check if the number was genuine. They replied back saying it is, and it’s definitely from their Customer Side Leakage team. The person I spoke with was actually really nice.

I rang Thames Water using the number from their site because the letter I got didn’t have my name on it - only 'Homeowner/Tenant'. Turns out it’s a real number for their leaks department, and the reference matches up with my account.

I’m not entirely sure if this was a scam or not, but they phoned me and straight away wanted me to confirm my address. When I asked them to say who they actually were before giving any details, they just hung up on me.

I phoned Thames Water about an issue with my water meter and they told me the number belongs to one of their contractors. I’d got a text supposedly from Thames Water using that number, so I called to double check - they assured me everything’s legit and the contractors only operate Monday through to Friday.

I received a text from Thames Water saying to ring this number about a potential leak at my place. I phoned Thames Water using their official number from their website, and after a bit of a slow and confused chat, they did confirm it was a genuine message from Essential Water Services. They even put me straight through to them. So, I reckon it’s legit and safe.

Got some texts a couple of weeks ago, then got a call today. They mentioned checking on a leak they said they’ll confirm, but I had that sorted like a month or two back. They asked for my landlord’s name and phone number and said they’ll get in touch to sort things out once they’ve spoken to him. I’ll keep this updated as it goes on.

Got a letter and a couple of calls, so I rang up Thames Water to check. They said the number belongs to a subcontractor called Essential Water Services. Thing is, it was a bit unclear because EWS mention fixing leaks at no cost, but I don’t reckon that covers pipes inside your home. So yeah, I’m still kinda wary about it.

This phone number belongs to a Thames Water sub-company named Essential Water. I checked it on 28/1/19 by ringing Thames Water’s main line. They transferred me to the Operations Team who verified the sub-contractor's details and told me I had an active case with them.

Definitely a scam. I rang Thames Water myself and they confirmed it’s fake. They’ve sent out letters that look quite official, but the wording is a bit off and sloppy. At first you might think it’s genuine, but it really isn’t. I’m pretty sure the ones claiming it’s legit on here are the scammers! Watch out!

Thames Water has a part of their service that looks into meter reading problems or potential leaks, and from what I found, this number is their main contact. Like, they might offer leak investigations for free but’ll ask for your permission first, especially if they need to get into your property or require your help to check water flow while testing the pipes for a leak.

Got a call from Essental Water Services about a leak at my house. I had already told Thames Water about it the day before. The people were really courteous and set up a day for the repair. I missed their call on my phone but when I rang back, I was put straight through with no hold time.

We got a letter claiming that legal action will be taken against us for a leak on our land - but we’re clueless about it and haven’t found anything ourselves. I’m a bit wary of ringing the number given, so I’m trying to get in touch with Thames Water’s main office instead.

hi again, i left a message before about my leak. just to clear things up, i found out ewf means essential water services ltd. their main office is at essential water services, unit 4 oakfield business center, works road, letchworth, herts sg6 1fb. phone: 01462 675769. but the leak issues for thames water are handled by a different office called the "maple office." they're located at maple lodge, denham way, rickmansworth wd3 sq1. hope that info helps. the lady from that office did confirm that 08082810180 is the right number.

I was told to get in touch with Thames Water using this number, but after seeing two different reviews, I'm a bit unsure now. I think I'll hold off calling until I'm certain. Kinda weird though, this number doesn’t appear anywhere on their official site, so is it possible this could be a scam from some scammer or some dodgy scheme?

I recently received a call from a company identified as 'essential water services'. They reached out to arrange some work for Thames Water, or possibly other water companies as well. In my case, it was a genuine call aimed at scheduling an appointment to address a water leak that Thames Water has pinpointed within my supply line.
