These individuals are nothing but con artists, luring you into signing up for an IVA with Creditfix while masquerading as a charitable organisation. Please, don’t be taken in by their deceitful tactics. Ensure you’re in conversation with a legitimate charity and steer clear of these fraudsters.

Can someone tell me how to stop this scammer? They've been ringing me up and somehow got hold of all my personal papers. Really don't know what to do next.

Do take care, as I wouldn't trust a single thing these scammers say! A woman claiming to be Hanah rang me, insisting she was from SteopChange Debt Charity. The moment I picked up on how dodgy it all felt, I ended the call immediately.

Beware of organisations using names like CHANGE DEBT SUPPORT, DEBT RELIEF SUPPORT, STEP TO CHANGE, or STEP DEBT SUPPORT pretending to be the genuine StepChange debt charity. Usually, you'll get a call from people named Peter Mureo, Mac, Abdul, or Michelle shortly after entering your details on their site. They claim to be from StepChange but pressure you into accepting an IVA. This isn’t just unethical behaviour, it’s outright fraud. You should definitely report this to Action Fraud and confirm you’re dealing with the official StepChange. The real charity will never push you into a debt plan that doesn’t suit your circumstances or ask you to falsify any information on your application, unlike these scammers.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Stepchange debt charity but it’s a scam. The bloke who picked up said his name was Peter Monroe or Munroe - definitely not with Stepchange. Be careful and report this to Action Fraud straight away, and block the number quick.
