My 87 year old mum got a call from someone called John William saying he was with Visa Mastercard. He said £250 had been taken out her account and sent to someone in Singapore. He wanted her full card details to block it. But he got really mixed up with the cards, giving the start of her credit card number while saying it was from the debit card company. When mum asked him which card company he was from and to explain himself, he just hung up straight away.

Got a call from someone called Brian Williams, said he was from BT Tech Support (not sure, he sounded quite foreign). Claimed there was a security issue with my computer and offered a free scan to fix it. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from a withheld number claiming to be Apple Tech Support. Tried to convince me to let him access my computer remotely, but I wasn’t having any of it. Before we got disconnected, he left me with this number to ring if the call dropped.

Got a call from someone saying his name was Sam Wilson, but he sounded Indian or Pakistani. The number was from WT721, and he kept going on about hackers messing with my wifi. I told him to sod off, and he just replied with "very funny, ma'am."

I got a call from someone called Jordon Clark, who claimed to be a senior tech supervisor at BT. He told me my computer was hacked and said I needed to turn it on, supposedly following Microsoft’s instructions. When I told him I wasn’t using Windows, he just called me a liar! I ended up hanging up after he started being rude.

Just before 8 o’clock this morning, I got a call from someone named Sam Wilson claiming to be from Microsoft Windows, warning me my computer was at risk! They rang from an unknown number 001633149056. I told them I was tied up and asked for a callback number, which turned out to be an 0808 number. That number eventually brought me here to this site! Honestly, why do these scammers not just leave well alone and stop trying to fool innocent people? They should seriously find legit work like everyone else!

This morning, just before 8am, I got a call from someone called Sam Wilson claiming to be from Microsoft Windows, warning me that my PC was at risk! The caller ID showed an unlisted number: 001633149056. I told him I was tied up and asked for a contact number to ring back, and he gave me an 0808 number, which eventually directed me to this very site! Honestly, why can’t these scammers just leave people alone and stop targeting the vulnerable? They should find a decent job like the rest of us! October 26th 2017

Watch out for the number 08082342039, it’s connected to a bloke called Max Hunt who’s a proper hacker. He might try calling you over and over again, using different names to trick ya. Best thing to do is just put the phone down straight away. If he keeps ringing, don’t pick up at all - eventually he’ll give up when no one answers. Stay safe and don’t fall for it!

I got a phone call from a guy who sounded Asian, kept pushing himself on me, saying his name was Sam Mark Shaw and gave out this number. When I asked where he was calling from, he told me both India and London, which was pretty confusing. He was trying to convince me that he was from a Windows support team and that my computer would crash within an hour if I didn’t let him in. Honestly, it felt like a total scam, really dodgy and rude too.

I recently received a rather alarming phone call from a chap named John Williams, claiming that my computer had somehow been compromised by terrorists! This isn't the initial time I've encountered such nonsense. I told him I was in the midst of preparing dinner for my kids, yet he still had the audacity to ring back-not once, but twice! Thankfully, I’m not one of those vulnerable elderly folks. When I casually mentioned that my husband is a policeman, he promptly terminated the call! Quite the amusing spectacle, I must say!

Got a call from some bloke called Max Hunt claiming my computer was hacked. He was proper pushy and quite rude. I decided to mess about and keep him on the phone for a bit, asking loads of questions, which seemed to annoy him big time. Reckon it might've delayed him scamming someone else for a while. Just wanted to share so folks know this sort of scam is still very much alive. Watch out!

Today I got a call from the number 08082342039 (also showed as 00316) and the bloke asked for some Nick Carter. He was going on about me being hacked and said I should open up my computer straight away. I told him I couldn’t as my son-in-law had it at the moment. He told me to get hold of him and then ring back so he could explain how to fix it. I rang my son-in-law instead, who quickly looked up the number and said not to bother calling back. If they ring again, they’ll be told off sharpish.

Got a call early morning around half seven from a guy named Edward Brown, who claimed my computer was hacked. I asked him how I could trust him and not just some hacker pretending to help. He said, “If I were the hacker, why else would I be calling you?” Then he told me to enter some kind of code and gave me his number to verify - 08082342039 extension 1158. I ended up reporting it to the police.

Received a call today from someone named Sam Wilson claiming there were hackers attempting to access my computer, telling me to log in straight away. Of course, I didn’t, and even told him I’m in IT myself, but he didn’t seem bothered at all. The guy gave an employer ID as WT 721M. Early this morning around 6:30, my husband answered a call on our landline from a man with an Indian accent. He claimed he needed to speak with me about my computer being hacked and my identity stolen. The caller said his name was David Miller Besh and asked me to return his call on 0808 244 2039. I’m feeling quite anxious about this and it seems like a scam to me, so I’m choosing not to get back to him. Would appreciate any tips on how to handle this!

I just got a phone call from a bloke with an Asian accent who said someone’s been trying to hack into my computer over the past couple weeks. He wanted to explain how to stop it. Since I’ve dealt with calls like this before, I told him I wasn’t buying his story and that I’d report it to the police. He didn’t seem bothered by that and kept saying he was just trying to help. I asked for his name, where he was calling from, and his number. He told me his name was Sam Wilson, said he was ringing from Baker Street in London, and gave me the number 0808 2342039, asking me to call him back. After about ten minutes of not calling him back, he rang again and spoke with my husband, then suddenly hung up. I checked online and found plenty of others had been targeted with similar calls. I get loads like this, but this time I’m definitely reporting it to the police.

Got a call today from a really unpleasant bloke! He claimed my computer had been hacked over the last fortnight. Told me to turn on my PC but avoid going online, then said he’d guide me through fixing it. Proper dodgy if you ask me!

Today I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent that was quite hard to make out, and she seemed confused by my responses as well. She claimed that my computer was linked to their server, and apparently there have been flashing red warnings lately, suggesting hackers had been accessing my info, including identity stuff. I told her since this was about theft, I’d rather report it to the police. She replied they wouldn’t be able to help because they don’t have the technical skills. I’m not tech-savvy at all, so I struggled to follow her instructions on what I was supposed to do with my PC. After ages, I managed to get a phone number from her - the one listed here. A 1471 check came up with 002815641012. When I feel up to it, I’ll probably give both numbers a ring.

My laptop got trashed, and then they tried to scam my wife for cash. Worst part is, all the pictures of my kids are gone now. If anyone knows where to track this bloke down, please let me know - I’d love to show him what a laptop and a pissed-off dad can do!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Windows Helpdesk. They tried to get me to let them control my computer and then said I’d have to pay between $120 and $180 to sort out the issue. They had Aussie sounding names, but I could tell they were actually from India!
