My 87 year old mum got a call from someone called John William saying he was with Visa Mastercard. He said £250 had been taken out her account and sent to someone in Singapore. He wanted her full card details to block it. But he got really mixed up with the cards, giving the start of her credit card number while saying it was from the debit card company. When mum asked him which card company he was from and to explain himself, he just hung up straight away.

Got a call from someone called Brian Williams, said he was from BT Tech Support (not sure, he sounded quite foreign). Claimed there was a security issue with my computer and offered a free scan to fix it. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

I got a call from someone called Jordon Clark, who claimed to be a senior tech supervisor at BT. He told me my computer was hacked and said I needed to turn it on, supposedly following Microsoft’s instructions. When I told him I wasn’t using Windows, he just called me a liar! This morning, at about 0800 hrs, I received a telephone call from someone named Sam Wilson claiming to be from Microsoft Windows. According to Sam, my computer was in danger of being compromised. The strange thing was that the number he called from, 001633149056, is not listed in my contacts. Feeling skeptical, I informed him I was occupied and requested a contact number to return his call. Surprisingly, he provided me with an 0808 number, which led me to a suspicious website. It is quite frustrating that these individuals continue to bother and deceive innocent and vulnerable people. Instead of scamming others, they should find a legitimate occupation like the rest of us.

This morning, at just before 0800 hrs, I received a call from someone who identified themselves as Sam Wilson. He claimed to be calling from Microsoft Windows, informing me that my computer was under threat. Surprisingly, the number he called from, 001633149056, is not listed. I expressed that I was occupied and asked for a callback number, to which he provided an 0808 number. Curiosity led me to visit this website! I recently received a phone call from a persistent Asian man who identified himself as 'Sam Mark Shaw' and provided me with a contact number. However, when I inquired about his location, he gave conflicting answers stating that he was calling from both India and London. His main purpose was to gain access to my computer, claiming to be from a Windows technical support service, and warned me that my computer would crash within an hour if I didn't comply. This incident was clearly an attempted scam and had a rather unpleasant nature to it.

I recently received a rather alarming phone call from a chap named John Williams, claiming that my computer had somehow been compromised by terrorists! This isn't the initial time I've encountered such nonsense. I told him I was in the midst of preparing dinner for my kids, yet he still had the audacity to ring back-not once, but twice! Thankfully, I’m not one of those vulnerable elderly folks. When I casually mentioned that my husband is a policeman, he promptly terminated the call! Quite the amusing spectacle, I must say!

I recently received a call from a rather impolite and persistent individual who went by the name of Max Hunt. He claimed that my computer had been hacked. Instead of putting an end to the call, I decided to keep him engaged for my own amusement. However, Mr. Hunt proved to be quite insulting and flustered by my inquiries. Nonetheless, my tactics must have at least inconvenienced him for a few moments, preventing him from contacting someone else. It is important to highlight that this scam is still quite prevalent, so it is wise to remain vigilant.

Today, I received a phone call from the number 08082342039 extension 00316. The person on the other end claimed to be Nick Carter and informed me that my computer had been hacked. He insisted that I open it immediately, but I explained that my son-in-law was in possession of it. The person instructed me to retrieve the computer and give him a call back, promising to guide me through the repair process. Suspicious, I contacted my son-in-law who then searched the internet for the phone number. We both concluded that it was not reliable, and if the person were to call again, we would not engage them.

At 07:30, I received a phone call from Edward Brown, an individual of Asian descent, who claimed that my computer had been compromised by hackers. Naturally, I voiced my concerns and questioned his credibility, wondering if he himself could be the actual hacker. To counteract my doubts, Mr. Brown assured me, "Mam, if I were indeed the hacker, why would I take the time to call and warn you?" He then proceeded to request that I enter a specific code. Curiously, he provided me with a contact number for verification purposes: 08082342039 extension 1158. Alarmed by the situation at hand, I promptly contacted the police to report this incident.

This morning, at 06:30am, a gentleman with an Indian accent called our home phone. He spoke to my husband and mentioned an issue regarding the hacking of my computer and the theft of my identity. He introduced himself as David Miller Besh and left a message, requesting me to call him back on the Helpline number, which is 0808 244 2039. I am currently feeling very anxious about this situation as it seems to be a potential scam. Therefore, I have decided not to return his call. Do you have any advice or recommendations on how to handle this situation further?

Have you heard about those scammers pretending to be from the Windows Helpdesk? They target unsuspecting individuals and trick them into letting them take control of their computers. They then charge exorbitant amounts, ranging from $120 to $180, to supposedly fix the issues. What's more surprising is that these scammers are Indian individuals using Australian names as aliases! Quite crafty, isn't it?
