I’ve had the misfortune of receiving persistent calls from the number 08081969242. It’s always the same story-no one on the other end. When I finally raise my voice and demand they communicate, they simply cut off the line. It’s incredibly annoying! I’ve tried blocking the number multiple times, yet they continue their relentless pursuit. Honestly, I’ve got far more important matters to attend to than wasting my time on these pointless calls.

This number has rung me multiple times in the past few weeks. Initially, there was silence on the other end when I picked up, prompting me to block the number entirely. Ever since, we’ve simply disregarded the calls. Strangely, my phone still chimes with notifications from blocked numbers, showing them as ‘blocked’. Today, out of necessity since my wife is unwell and resting, I answered it. A pleasant lady with a middle-aged voice introduced herself and mentioned she was calling on behalf of a firm linked to a request I supposedly made regarding our council tax band review. I told her I hadn’t made any such request. She then suggested it might have been quite some time ago and asked if I wished to hear the outcome, to which I replied with a firm 'no'. She assured me they would take me off their list. While I didn't request any follow-up, I can't help but wonder why it took so long to reach me and why the original organisation didn't get in touch directly.
