4 yearsi got a pop up message too and rang the number they gave. a bloke called abner answered and told me my computer was broken and needed fixing. i foolishly let him in to my system. while we were chatting he asked for cash to fix it and said a lifetime firewall would cost £699. i didn’t pay him anything but now i’m anxious he might still be able to get into my laptop whenever i go online.Abner4 yearsMy laptop suddenly showed a warning telling me to call Microsoft on 08081968122, so I did. The guy who answered said his name was Dave Edson and claimed Microsoft had locked my computer. At first, he asked for £180, but when I mentioned I’m a pensioner, he dropped the price to £125. I told him I really couldn’t afford that, so after a bit of pushing, he said if I paid immediately it would be just £95. That’s when I realised something was fishy, so I quickly hung up and shut down my computer.
