This number keeps ringing our office non stop. We’re a company with no connection to EON whatsoever. When I finally got round to calling them back, they couldn’t even tell me why they’d been calling. Told them we’re on the TPS list and if they don’t stop calling, we’ll have no choice but to report them to the ICO.

Got a call from a bloke with a strong accent I could barely make out, claiming to be from Neon Energy. When I asked what he wanted, he said I had an account with them. I told him we don’t, as we use a business supplier and I’d never heard of Neon Energy before. Next, he backtracked and said "Oh sorry, it’s actually Eon Next, your address is on our list." I told him again that we are definitely not customers. He then got pretty annoyed, so I just hung up. If they can't even get the company name right, it’s obviously a dodgy call trying to pull a fast one. Don’t trust it.

I think some folks need to use a bit more common sense; just ‘cause a call comes from an ‘Asian’ bloke or lass doesn’t mean it’s a scam right away. Companies like E.ON have operations overseas, including places like India. If you can’t make out a voicemail from this number or struggle to understand them talking to you, it doesn't automatically mean it’s dodgy. I was on the phone with Eon when, quite suddenly, the line dropped. After hanging up, I attempted to call them again, but during the reconnection, I noticed this number pop up as an incoming call. I instinctively tried to pick it up, but it hung up before I could answer. I then contacted Eon once more and happened to get the very same operator, who mentioned they had tried to reach me but was also cut off. It appears that this number might well be linked to Eon for outbound calls. Whether it’s also employed for unsolicited calls, I can’t say for sure, but it does seem to originate from a legitimate Eon contact. I made sure to inform the operator about this anomaly so they could look into it further.

I received a call from someone with a strong Indian accent. When I inquired about his name, he said it was 'Alex Jones'. Really? I didn’t buy it for a second, so I ended the call. It was quite clear it was a scam, as he was purportedly representing EON.

Got a voicemail from this number sayin my energy bill was over £3000 unpaid. As far as I’m aware, that’s completely untrue. I reckon it might be linked to a situation at my job where a manager's being looked into for bullying and threatening staff. Could be connected to that somehow.

I received a rather peculiar phone call from a lady claiming to be from 'Yonex.' When I inquired about the purpose of the call, she insisted that she couldn't disclose any information until I answered some security questions. I found it quite baffling that she couldn't reveal her identity without first having me verify my details. She kept insisting that security was necessary for her to share their information! Quite odd, if you ask me! Just a heads up to everyone!

He kept pushing for my postcode and other details but I told him I wasn’t calling to get info off him, and if he had the right info about me I might talk, then I hung up. He tried calling back a couple of times but I just ignored it - seemed like a total fishing attempt 😤
