They claimed to be from the Inland Revenue, threatening me with an arrest warrant unless I pressed 1 to prevent it. I ended the call instead of following their dubious directions.

I received a rather alarming call from a man who claimed that I was downloading illegal content, which was utterly untrue. He mentioned my Safari browser had been restricted, and insisted there was a £20 charge to restore access to it, so I could surf the web once more. This sort of scam should be put to an end! I can only imagine how many folks fall victim to these fraudsters and what sort of profits they're raking in. It really is absurd! Apple representatives informed me that these scams are unfortunately quite common.
