3 yearsI encountered a rather dodgy Microsoft scam the other day. It was quite clever, as it prompted me to click on another tab in my browser. Once I did that, I was able to shut down the fraudulent tab that claimed to be a security alert from Microsoft. Such trickery!Microsoft3 yearsI was browsing on Facebook and stumbled across a page with a photo of two hands side by side, claiming it could tell your future. Suddenly, my laptop showed a warning from Microsoft Defender saying my computer had been locked because someone used it to visit an identity theft site. The message told me not to turn off the computer and to call 08081751837. It also mentioned Hyperoptic Ltd on the pop-up. I tried closing the alert or hitting cancel but nothing worked, so I had to force shutdown the laptop. When I switched it back on, everything was fine.
