I’ve tried another firm before for filing and can honestly say ACS is in a league of its own. The other place was a nightmare with constant mix-ups, loads of basic mistakes on forms, and I spent ages waiting for replies to simple questions. ACS has been the complete opposite. Their answers came swiftly and were easy to understand, plus the automated reminders kept me on track without any hassle. The step-by-step instructions made everything straightforward. Overall, I’m really pleased and definitely plan on sticking with them for a long time.

Phone rang from someone saying they were from "Consumer Technical Repairs" Insurance. They even had my password to make it sound legit. I did sign up with an insurance company not long ago, but since then, I’ve had loads of calls from different firms all pretending to be from the same place. It’s been non-stop pestering me for the past couple of months. Looks like this is just another try to swipe my card info.

I decided to give this firm a buzz after my next-door neighbour spoke highly of them. About a week after I placed my order, a nifty little gadget arrived in the post. To be frank, it appears to be functioning quite effectively.

I'm convinced this company is up to no good. They rang my mother-in-law, claiming it was time to refresh her caller ID service. Shockingly, they took £150 from her and then sent a flimsy box that looks like it was plucked off Amazon for a mere £20. Quite the con!

My mum got a call from a guy called Louis who said he was with BT. He told her she’d receive some call blocking kit in the post, but only after she paid £179 for the hire and service, which was supposed to last three years before going free. Unfortunately, she ended up paying the full amount. What’s crazy is that she actually started a legit BT call protect plan just last week. How these scammers got hold of that info to trick her, I have no idea. She’s now dealing with Barclays’ fraud team, hoping they can sort something out.

A couple of weeks back, I got a ring from this number, where they mentioned they could help in stopping nuisance calls on my landline. I decided to sign up for their service, and shortly after, I received a letter welcoming me aboard. However, there was no call-blocking device included. After reaching out for clarification, they told me it was being customised to fit my preferences. To my pleasant surprise, it finally arrived at the beginning of this week, and I haven't had a single unwanted call since then. I'm quite pleased with how things have turned out!

I find myself in a similar predicament with this number. Initially, I thought it was a bit of a laugh, but when I quizzed her about the firm, she responded convincingly and even provided me with their company registration number (10364936). This made me believe it was a genuine enterprise. I rang them several times since I hadn’t received any updates and even got a letter on their official letterhead. They assured me that progress was being made. Fast forward to now, it’s been a whopping 7 months and when I tried calling them today, the number seems to have been disconnected. I suppose I've acted rather foolishly and ended up losing £150.

I had a chat with a lovely lady named Alana who reached out to me. Everything she mentioned appeared to check out, so I decided to give the service a go. It took a bit of time, but I finally got a correspondence from the valuation team. They verified that my band is set to decrease. Although I haven’t seen any rebate come through just yet, my monthly payment has indeed gone down.

Yesterday, my dad received a call claiming he was due a £4000 refund for council tax due to an alleged error in his banding. As soon as he shared that with me, I felt a twinge of doubt; I often receive similar emails that just scream "scam." After doing a bit of digging, I can confirm that the number used is indeed linked to these dodgy operations. It's astonishing how skilled and relentless these con artists are, preying on those who might be less aware. Truly shocking how they exploit the vulnerable without a hint of remorse!

So, today I got a call from a lovely lady named Charlie, sounded really genuine. She said I could get £3000 back from an overpayment on my council tax due to being in the wrong band but needed £150 upfront to begin the process. Luckily, I looked it up here first, and it turns out loads of folks have been caught out by this. Definitely feels like a scam aimed at older people.

I got a call from someone saying they were with Godwin Smith Malone, or GSM for short. I found their site where it says GSM is just a trading name for Affinity Sales Ltd. But when I looked up Affinity Sales Ltd at Companies House, it turns out they were shut down back in 2015! This has scam written all over it, no doubt.

Just yesterday (11th April 2019) I received a rather dubious call from a lady named Megan, she claimed to be from Goldwyn Smith Malone or some such thing. She went on about how I was allegedly overpaying my council tax in comparison to other properties in the area, and suggested I was entitled to a substantial rebate from the last decade! She then made an offer for a surveyor's report at a hefty £500, or their so-called government-approved one for just £150. Naturally, when she asked for my card details, I thought better of it and refused, as it quickly dawned on me that this was yet another scam. Given the multitude of similar stories shared by others, surely there must be measures in place to safeguard the elderly from such predicaments?

I got a call from a place named Godwin Smith Maloney saying my council tax band was wrong. They promised to sort everything out and help me get nearly £5000 back. But they wanted me to pay £150 upfront first. Honestly, don’t fall for this, it’s definitely a scam.

I had a delightful chat with a charming lady on the phone regarding my council tax queries. I'm already clued up on the whole scenario thanks to a segment I caught with Martin Lewis on the telly, which encouraged me to take the plunge. Honestly, I've never had the inclination to delve into it myself, so I'm quite relieved they’re handling it for me. I did have some reservations about the company since it was all conducted over the phone, but after a few days, I received the letters they promised and have since returned them.

Beware of a council tax con linked to a company called GSM Marketing, which recently switched their name to dodge suspicion. They're going after older folks, which is really unsettling. The numbers 02038616393 and 02038873194 are tied to them. If you look them up on Companies House, you'll see the name swap attempt to cover up their dodgy actions. Proper disgusting behaviour! I received a rather curious phone call earlier from someone named Cleo. She informed me that we had been overpaying on our council tax and that we were entitled to a whopping rebate of around £3,000 to £4,000, spanning two decades! To proceed, she stated that we would need to obtain a surveyor's report-either one that would set us back £500 from a private source or a government-backed one priced at £150. As she began to ask for our card information, it dawned on us that this was just another con, and we promptly declined to share any details. Quite the cheek, isn’t it?

I'm absolutely furious! My 79-year-old mum has fallen for a despicable scam perpetrated by these vile individuals. They managed to extract her bank details, but thankfully, we acted swiftly and cancelled her card before any damage could be done. It’s utterly revolting! She was promised over £4000 due to an alleged overpayment on her council tax, and she was taken in by this manipulative con artist. It's deeply concerning, especially since my mum is already battling major heart issues and cancer. This sort of exploitation of the elderly is becoming all too prevalent. Yesterday, my mum received a call from this number, stating they could recover £6,000 on her council tax. They asked her for her credit card info to process a £150 fee. Thankfully, she figured out it was a con. At 82, she's far too often targeted by these dodgy calls. I've seen other people share similar experiences with this number online, and it seems to be a frequent occurrence. I really hope someone takes action and shuts this operation down. It's utterly shameful that such companies take advantage of vulnerable individuals, especially the elderly. Thank you.

I found myself tricked into parting with £150 under the impression I could secure a £6,000 refund for overpayment on my council taxes. However, to my surprise, I received a letter the very next day stating I had the option to cancel the transaction. What a shambles!

I received a call earlier from this number, purporting to be from GSM National Tax Consultancy. They were insisting that I was due a £5000 refund on my council tax, which they could supposedly help me reclaim for a fee of £150. Of course, I made it clear to Chloe - the representative I spoke with - that I had absolutely no intention of parting with any money to them. The line promptly went dead. Shouldn’t this number be investigated by the fraud team? It seems rather dubious, don't you think?

I received a rather dubious phone call from a company purporting to be GSM National Tax Consulting based in Hove. They insisted that I was entitled to a reimbursement of £5,000 due to an alleged overpayment on my council tax that stretches back a whopping 25 years! To process this refund, however, they requested a fee of £150 upfront. Naturally, I declined to provide them with any payment information. Their story raised numerous red flags for me, considering you can check your council tax band for free. They seemed to have my name, address, and council tax band details, which are all too easy to find in public records. It certainly felt like they were attempting to fish for my credit card or bank account details. The caller identified themselves as Chloe from GSM National Tax Consultants of Hove. Quite unsettling, to say the least!

Earlier today, I received a call from Abby on 08081 646 333 regarding an issue with council tax banding. As soon as she brought up my credit card details, it clicked that it was a dodgy call. While the premise could be genuine, I've got no intention of letting them handle it; I’d rather sort it out on my own if there’s anything to reclaim. I’ve dealt with similar companies in the past for reclaiming cash on mis-sold items, and it’s always been the case that you only pay them once the claim is sorted out successfully.

I just had a rather curious phone call from someone named Shanaze, who rang me up regarding an alleged overpayment on my council tax. Initially, everything seemed quite promising, until she requested my credit card details for the £150 'processing fee' they take out, which they later claim back!
