We've been inundated with an incessant stream of SMS messages and have attempted to contact them thrice to have our number removed from their records. The bizarre part is, we don't even hold an account with MBNA! During our last call, we resorted to threats, yet here we are, feeling lost and unsure of how to proceed. This really feels like harassment!

We've been getting calls on our mobile from this number, and there are also some messages coming through. Does anyone have any idea if this could be a prank caller?

Received the same Aegis text this morning and have noticed MBNA popping up in various ways. They’re overdue because of the credit crunch, but honestly, who’s bothered? Cheers for the insightful comments, though-I won’t be giving them a ring back. Ta! x

I wanted to share my experience with everyone. We've been getting the same annoying calls and messages, so we decided to reach out to MBNA and insisted that if the incessant ringing didn’t stop, we’d have to lodge a complaint. We also made it clear that they should communicate with us only in writing from here on out. It's now been several days, and thankfully, the calls and texts have ceased.

We've received several calls from the number 08081013403, all concerning a certain individual named Smith. After declining to provide any information twice, we ended up having to get in touch with MBNA regarding an issue. Oddly enough, the following day we were called once more, and this time we shared our date of birth. Shortly thereafter, these callers began probing into the conversation we had with MBNA just a day prior. What is going on here? Quite puzzling, I must say!

We receive calls from this number roughly five times a day and it's absolutely maddening! They come across as rather suspicious, to say the least!

I received a message from someone named "Aegis." It instructed me to call them regarding MBNA at 08081013405. I went ahead and dialled the number, and they asked for my phone number right off the bat. Then, they wanted my name and date of birth as soon as I finished the call. It feels very dodgy to me, so be cautious if you come across this!

I must say, these constant calls have been rather unnerving. The callers come off as incredibly insistent and a bit too forceful for my liking. Each time my home phone rings, I find myself hesitating to pick it up. I completely resonate with what others are saying here; the best approach seems to be to simply disengage or not answer at all. And if you do choose to take the call, for goodness' sake, don’t divulge a single scrap of information. Surely, if MBNA had a genuine concern, they ought to reach out to us directly through proper channels like postal mail as well.

I've been receiving calls from this number starting with a plus sign, initially it was +8000280683, and it came with a robotic voice delivering what seemed like an urgent message for a name I can’t quite recall. Now it’s switched to +08081013405, and I’ve been getting calls every couple of hours, between 9 AM and 8 PM, for the past three days. A few folks have mentioned that it appears to be a scam asking for payment. We’ve only picked up twice, and now I'm bracing myself for the phone bill to find out what might come from it.

Indeed, we received a call from them earlier today as well. We decided to give them a ring back, and those folks were probing us with questions regarding our account - a misstep on our part as we ended up revealing some details. Nothing too confidential, just our date of birth, but apparently, we missed a payment. Now I’m bracing myself for a barrage of nuisance calls from these individuals. If that happens, we might just take a swing at MBNA! The only reason we felt compelled to call back was that our parent company had also been contacted by a firm called Aegis (not the same lot, mind you!) and we assumed that MBNA had gotten in touch with our workplace about that late payment.

I received a call from Aegis, which turned out to be Global Vantedge acting on behalf of MBNA. They claim not to operate in the UK, yet it appears that they actually do! We've taken the step of sending them a formal request to stop the incessant calls via special delivery. The address is as follows: Global Vantedge, Gateley Waring LLP, One Eleven, Edmund Street, Birmingham, West Midlands, B3 2HJ. Here's hoping they take our request seriously!

Earlier today, we received a text message from these individuals, precisely as stated above. We're quite inclined to ring them up since we recently submitted an application for an MBNA credit card online, but have yet to receive any updates. However, as we pondered this, it dawned on us that we hadn't included our mobile number in the application. So, if MBNA needs to contact us, it's more likely they'd send a letter rather than a text! After perusing the remarks shared here, we’re relieved we didn’t attempt to call them back. This all feels rather suspicious and could end up being quite a costly error!

We’ve been bombarded with calls too, and it’s really quite frustrating! We do have a credit card with MBNA, but we’re not at all keen on their annoying calls that seem to involve a third party.

Is there anyone out there who can actually identify these individuals?

A rather dubious bunch from Global Vantage (India) has been ringing up MBNA clients who’ve fallen behind or missed their payments. These are individuals holding credit cards that MBNA manages under various brand names, such as A&L, Virgin Money, and a whole load more. In my opinion, it’s quite sketchy and potentially illegal under data protection regulations for MBNA to share your details outside of the EU.

Has anyone here tried calling this number back? I find it utterly bewildering what the representatives claim the company is called; they speak at such a rapid pace, it’s nearly impossible to comprehend! As a result, we end up just languishing in a queue.

Hi there! It appears that this number is linked to a debt collection agency. We had a similar experience a few years back, and since we had relocated, they only had our phone number on file. They incessantly asked probing questions like our date of birth and address, but I wouldn't advise sharing such details unless you're absolutely certain of their legitimacy. Fortunately, our issue was eventually sorted out, and we ended up receiving compensation from United Utilities.

An Indian lady contacted us to chat about some important information concerning our MBNA account. She referred to herself as Aegis and was insistent on obtaining our date of birth and postcode. We refrained from sharing any personal details, but she kept pushing. We've gone ahead and sent an email to Virgin to notify them about this matter. We're confident that Virgin and MBNA would reach out directly if the information were that crucial. So please, do not disclose any personal information!

I've had quite a few missed calls from the number 08081013405. When we answered it once, there was nobody on the line. Just this evening, we got a text from that same number, urging us to contact Global Vantedge. Naturally, we’ve decided against calling back! I do have an MBNA credit card, and my payment went in a day late, but those payments are processed directly through MBNA's customer service. So, this shouldn’t really cause any problems, should it?

Earlier today (Saturday), we received a call from a “withheld number.” We didn’t say a word, but a rather quick-spoken foreign lady left a voicemail stating that it was “crucial” for us to ring her back today on 0808 1013 405. She mentioned her availability as Tuesday to Friday from 1 pm to 9 pm GMT. I had to listen to the message five times to truly comprehend it, and honestly, it's quite clear they haven’t got a clue about what day it is! What a right laugh! Naturally, we won't be returning the call.

The company in question appears to be Aegis, associated with MBNA. I've misplaced a payment, and since then, we've received calls at all hours-morning, afternoon, and evening. They seem to ring us repeatedly and then just hang up without so much as a word. Quite frustrating, really!
