Got a call from someone saying they were from Thames Water customer support, wanted to check up on a problem with their website. But when I checked the hotspot map, loads of folks outside the Thames Water region got calls from the same number. Makes me wonder if scammers have taken over this number too?

I keep getting calls nearly every morning from some bloke who barely speaks English. He’s blabbering on about my bank account being hacked and says he can sort it if I just hand over my info. Yeah, no thanks mate, I’m not daft. Complete scam.

I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t know. If it was something urgent, they’d leave a voicemail right? This number has rung me a few times but never dropped a message. Doesn’t seem important, so I’ve put it on my block list now.

Got a call from Thames Water asking for my personal info. I told them if they're legit, they already have all my info and shouldn't be asking me to verify it. I didn't make the call, so they should be the ones confirming the details they hold about me!

I’ve picked up loads of these calls but nobody ever says a word. They always ring late at night. I blocked the number but then got another call from a different one, and when I answered, the guy asked why I blocked him. I just hung up. Honestly, it’s starting to make me a bit worried.

Got a call from Thames Water asking me to set up a direct debit by phone (I had asked for this before so it wasn’t really surprising). I told them I’d rather do it online, and they didn’t push me for my details or anything, so I’d say this sounds genuine and okay to pick up. Still, always be careful about sharing bank info on calls!

Got a call claiming to be Thames Water saying I owe money and they wanna avoid court (how kind of them!). Had a look at my Thames Water account online: nothing owed. Checked my bank too: no issues. Pretty clear this is just a scam.
