I received a voicemail on the 2nd of January, 2018, allegedly from British Gas, requesting a meter reading. The message asked me to call back and provide the reading verbally. I chose to delete it, disregarded the request, and subsequently blocked the number. Just for your info, I'm ex-directory and registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

I received a call from a woman who identified herself as being with British Gas. When I inquired about the reason for her call, she bizarrely instructed me to press any key on my phone! It felt quite dodgy, to say the least—definitely raised my suspicions.
