I was driving through a part of town I don’t know well, trying to keep up with Google Maps, when this number kept ringing. I hung up to focus on driving, but they called me 5 more times in a row! Thinking it might be something urgent, I pulled over only to discover it was Npower, about a meter. It’s pretty worrying that companies think it’s okay to keep ringing non-stop like that.

Got a missed call from this number today, after they sent me a couple of texts last week saying to reply ‘yes’ if I wanted a smart meter installed, plus an email saying they’d booked an appointment even though I didn’t agree to it. I checked the number and saw it’s from npower, so I know what’s going on. I’m not interested in a smart meter, so I’m ignoring the call. Thanks to everyone who shared warnings about this!

yeah, its that npower smart meter deal, if u think u can avoid getting one ur wrong. could be worse i guess, ive got an electric prepay one, my electric provider (not npower tho) insists i get a smart meter too. i have to buy electric vouchers from the post office, which is a 30 min walk, and they shut at 5:30pm and noon on saturday, closed all sunday. brilliant!

got an automated call saying it was from npower, offering a smart meter and told me to press 1 if interested. could be legit, but since i’m not keen on a smart meter i just hung up to be safe.

got a call from someone pretending to be npower, kept pushing this so called snoopmeter. ive told them loads of times we dont want one. we can manage our usage without their devices! the only ones saving cash from these meters are the companies and their big investors. why do we have to put up with this constant bother when we’ve made it clear we dont need their meters? we aint gonna gain anything from it, but plenty of workers might lose their jobs because of these things.

got a call about a smart meter. yet again! they keep calling and posting letters nonstop until you finally call back to say you don’t want one (which you cant say on their online form). i told them i’ve said this at least 6 times now and they say sorry and ‘make a note of it’. but then a few weeks later, it all begins again. wonder who’s footing the bill? take a wild guess.
