ABSOLUTELY LEGITIMATE I reached out to British Gas Business via email for an invoice and, unbelievably, the very next day, this number rang me up. The chap on the line had a solid grasp of our company details, including both addresses, account balances, and our most recent payment date. To top it off, just ten minutes later, I received the (undeniably authentic) invoice in my inbox from the address I provided. They utilise the company name as a way to confirm your identity, ensuring that no one else gets hold of your information.

I've been receiving calls from this number on a daily basis for the past week. The callers claim to represent British Gas Business, and they seem to have my company's name, which is a bit unsettling. They persistently asked me to verify my name and address, stating that my account was overdue and urging me to pay them right away using my personal bank details. I refrained from disclosing any information and decided to get in touch with British Gas myself. They promptly sent over a detailed printout of my account, revealing that I am actually in credit! The customer service team reassured me that they would never resort to such intimidating tactics, expressing their concern about these calls. Just had another attempt from that number, and I firmly told them where to go!
