I’ve decided to part ways with Plusnet since they’re shutting down and pushing everyone towards EE, which isn't really a great offer in my opinion. I've already committed to a different provider, thankfully. I missed the call, so I took the opportunity to look it up here first - now they've been blocked!

So it turns out Plusnet Mobile is being discontinued since EE took over Plusnet/BT. They’re still keeping the Plusnet Broadband service, though. I’ve switched over to Sky Mobile myself - pays me just £2 a month with unlimited calls, which is great. Data costs a lot more there, but since I don’t really need much data, it works perfectly for me!

18 Jan 2024 Harrison I got a call from someone saying they were with PlusNet in Sheffield, telling me my service was about to stop. Problem is, I already left them ages ago since PlusNet mobile services end in Jan 2024 anyway. I always tick the box to avoid marketing calls and only want emails for contract stuff, so pretty sure it’s a scam. If not, then it’s just unwelcome marketing that I never agreed to.

I didn’t pick up the phone, but if it really was from Plusnet, I reckon they wouldn’t be ringing to ask why I’m ditching their mobile service since it’s ending anyway! Feels like a scam to me - plus, they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. If it was legit, surely they’d leave one?

If they start asking you stuff like WHY ARE YOU LEAVING, it’s definitely a scam. Real Plusnet would be aware their phone or mobile service is stopping, so customers aren’t really “leaving” them on their own accord. To me, these calls just seem like dodgy scams trying to take advantage. Pretty risky if you ask me.
