I've received, and subsequently ignored, a couple of calls from the number 08009235003. Much like someone else noted, I hold a mobile contract with EE, and my landline service is tied to the Post Office-was with BT, but after experiencing their abysmal customer service, I swiped left on them. I'm rather miffed that BT seems to have rifled through my EE contract details in a bid to peddle me something I quite plainly rejected ages ago. Clearly, my recollection of our previous discussions far surpasses theirs. Maybe I ought to ring them back and have a word, eh?

As a former telecommunications professional, let me clarify something: it’s rather misguided to assume this is how businesses function. During my time handling nuisance calls, I discovered that fraudulent outfits often “spoof” legitimate numbers, effectively disguising their identity. They employ call generators to randomly dial, creating the illusion that the call is coming from a reputable source like BT. This clever ruse is what lures unsuspecting individuals into picking up the phone.

Just a quick update on my earlier post from 23/03/17 where I mentioned getting a call from this number on 21/03/17. At first, I thought it might be dodgy after speaking with BT who had no record of me joining them, and they even phoned the number themselves suspecting a scam. Turns out, that’s not the case. I found out exactly who they are, and the offer they gave is genuine. If you want, you can ring them back at 0114 321 0000. Seems like their prices beat what BT are actually offering.

just to update my comment from 23/03/17, i mentioned that on the 21/03/17 this number called me on my mobile. I spoke to BT but they had no record of me as a new customer and thought it might be a scam when they called the number back. turns out it’s not a scam after all. i found out who they are and you can even ring them back on 0114 321 0000. the deal they offer is genuine and from what i can tell it’s actually cheaper than the deals BT sell themselves.

A couple of days ago, on 21/03/17, this number rang me on my mobile. The caller seemed aware that my phone was an EE business line. They managed to persuade me to sign up for BT broadband and took some personal info. I got a bit wary and began recording the call. Later, I tried calling the number back, but like others have mentioned, it just went straight to a recorded message saying they're too busy. Today, 23/03/17, I contacted BT and they had no record of me as a new customer. They even rang the number themselves and reckon it’s a scam.

This number appears to be affiliated with a nasty bullying scheme orchestrated by BT - British Telecommunications. They’re trying to hound individuals into switching providers, clearly in a bid to fatten their own wallets, while poaching customers who are likely satisfied with their current services. I’m with EE, but my landline and internet are through the Post Office, so it’s evident that BT muppets have targeted me using my EE contact details. 1. Blocking this number is definitely on the agenda. 2. But not before I give them a right earful using my trusty Acme referee whistle. I always keep it handy by the phone for moments like this! Trust me, after a good blast, they won’t bother calling back again.

I’ve quite had enough of this number, to be honest! I never pick up calls from unknown numbers, particularly those starting with 0800. I received a call from this number on the 7th of February back in 2017. I chose not to pick up at the time and a rather cheeky message was left. When I listened to it, the caller cheekily referred to me as... "you daft C.U.Next.Tuesday." Honestly, it baffles me why the government doesn’t take more stringent action against these scam operations. It seems that every time we report them on platforms like this, nothing gets done to rid our society of such lowlife behaviour!

I received a call from a pleasant young lady of Asian descent who inquired whether I happened to know if BT had acquired EE. I confirmed that I was indeed aware of that. Then she probed about which provider I use for my landlines and broadband. I politely declined to share that information. Suddenly, her demeanor shifted completely; she expressed astonishment that I was operating a business and suggested I ought to behave with greater professionalism, calling me rude in the process. Goodness gracious, BT, that's not quite the strategy to attract more customers, is it?

I received a call today from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, insisting that my computer was at risk due to an alleged breach of my IP address. They made all sorts of alarming claims about numerous issues reported on my device and even provided me with a licence code to enter. Needless to say, I didn’t fall for it and didn’t input anything. Quite the cheeky scam, if you ask me!

They’re purporting to be from EE? Just block them regardless!

Hello there!
I would really appreciate some assistance. A call came through today from a number announcing it was the BT-EE sales department, promoting a broadband and line rental deal for just £16 a month over a two-year period. I’m curious to know if anyone else has received similar offers. Cheers for any help!

They just keep going even after you tell them you’re not bothered.
