Got a call from someone saying they were looking into fraud on my Amex card. The phone number looked almost exactly like the real Amex one, and if you ring back, the voicemail sounds just like Amex too. Watch out for this! When I told them I’d just contact Amex directly, the person got really rude and started shouting.

I got a call where the person started asking for loads of info and wanted me to send my cash to Revolut. When I told them no, they just hung up straight away.

I got a call from someone who said they were with Amex and they began grilling me with security questions. So I called the Amex fraud department using the number on my card and they told me they never rang me. Watch out for this!

I got a call from someone saying they were from American Express, luckily I was tied up at the time. He said he’d ring back later, but I told him I’d just contact the fraud team myself in between my appointments. He mentioned I could either use the number he was calling from or the one on the back of my card - apparently both are the same, but honestly they look really alike and could be confused quite easily.

I’ve just received a call from this number claiming to be from HSBC. They mentioned there were some odd transactions on my account. I didn’t trust it at all, so I hung up and subsequently blocked the number. Better safe than sorry!

Got a call from 08009178041, with someone pretending to be from American Express. They started asking me all sorts about supposed fraud on my account, then hit me with security questions like what my card limit was and even if my CVV number was right. Something felt off, so I ended the call straight away to see if they'd ring back, but no luck. Later, I contacted American Express myself and they told me they hadn't rung me about any fraud issues. Definite red flags there.
