Just like a lot of people here, I ignore calls from 0800 or any number I don’t know. Since switching my provider and saving myself £460 a year, I’ve been getting these annoying calls non-stop. It’s really about time some official body, maybe the government or WatchDog, stepped in to put an end to these pesky nuisance calls. We’re perfectly capable of comparing prices and picking what suits us best without being hassled. Cheers NPower, but you’re now permanently blocked on my phone!

These calls come through daily but no one ever leaves a message. I’m registered with TPS and my number isn’t listed anywhere, so I really don’t want to be bothered like this. It’s quite annoying.

After going through this page, I reckon it was probably npower ringing me up - I’ve just switched my energy provider anyway. What really winds me up about loads of these calls, including the latest one, is that the people calling often don’t speak proper English, which makes it tricky for me to catch what they’re saying. These days, I just say, “Sorry, I can’t follow you, goodbye,” and hang up.

Usually I don't pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but I thought I’d chime in here. I’m also trying to switch away from NPower and honestly, I’d rather they just email me like they have been doing for the past year or so. The only reason I can think they wanna chat directly is to try and persuade me to stay, which feels a bit pushy if you ask me.

Been getting calls from npower’s "retentions" folks for about three weeks now. They never drop a message, and I usually let 0800 numbers go straight to voicemail. Today, I finally rang npower myself about switching away from them and asked about the mysterious number hassling me. The person I spoke to rang it back and confirmed it was indeed their retentions team.

When I phoned it back, it sounded suspicious - a recorded message said something like "you’re calling from a different number than we have on file." That’s nonsense since the message was left on my present number! I didn’t give them my number back. I reckon it’s probably some kind of scam or a sales call. I tried calling this number from my mobile using 0800 buster. It just kept ringing for a while before I got a voicemail asking for the original number. I wasn’t bothered since I think they’re blocked anyway. When I entered the number, it said it didn’t exist and asked me to enter the number I was called on instead. After that, the message changed to say the call wasn’t urgent. Seems like it’s just an automated setup, probably from a German company.

Yeh, looks like that’s npower. I actually switched providers because their billing was such a mess. Tried to sort out my tariff but heard they’re rubbish when it comes to giving back any overpaid direct debit cash. I’ve been calling them like 7 times daily for nearly a week now.
