Got a survey call recently and I wasnt happy with it at all. The reviews here helped me figure out it was from SSE, as the automated voice wasnt clear about who it was. Bit disappointing since my actual experience with SSE was pretty good. Do they really have to do these surveys? Marked the call as neutral, didnt block it or anything.

I hung up but I'm pretty sure it was SSE since I renewed my contract with them yesterday. They only said 'the company you spoke with' so if they can't be more clear, they don't really deserve any feedback!

Looking at the other replies, I reckon it’s from SSE since I’d called them the day before. The recorded message got all messed up right when it was supposed to say the company’s name, so I just ended up deleting it to be on the safe side.

Sounds like it’s SSE. I just switched my energy provider to them. Got an automated call that kept saying ‘my name’s Kirsty and I’m calling from’ again and again. Reckon it’s not working right!

Got two calls from 0064 43529482873 today. Missed the initial ring, but when they rang back, it was the typical "We need to verify your internet" spiel. Threatening to cut my internet doesn’t scare me at all. The first caller spoke with an American accent, the second was Indian. I told them straight up they were scam artists, then they just clicked off.

SSE keeps ringing me up all the time. They fitted a rubbish meter and then charged us £2,000 we don’t owe. We got a different company to check the meter and they said it was faulty and the readings were wrong. We changed providers, had a new meter put in, and we're refusing to pay the fake debt.

After reading this, I reckon that call I kinda brushed off earlier was probably one of those surveys after I renewed my broadband deal with SSE last Friday. Nothing dodgy, but the way they come across is so vague it’s just not worth picking up.

Got a call tonight around 6.40pm. It was an automated message just saying it was from my "Energy Provider", I didn't reply. After checking this site, I figured it was actually from my Mum’s energy company, SSE (mine's EDF). Honestly, why can’t they just say it’s SSE on the call so we know who’s ringing? I called Southern Electric yesterday and then this number rang me today. The voice on the phone was obviously pre-recorded, which was a bit weird. The automated message kept trying to say “I am [name given]” but kept messing up the start of the sentence a few times. So I guess it was a legit call, just with a glitchy machine. Bit irritating getting a robotic call, but maybe it’s just how things are moving nowadays!

I recently got a call from Southern Electric and wanted to share my experience. Just as I was about to pick up, the ringing stopped, but their automated message came through loud and clear on my answerphone. It was really courteous and straightforward, asking me to ring back on their 0800 number - which showed up on the caller ID as well. The call cost nothing, and they only asked me three quick questions where I had to rate things from zero to nine. Pretty hassle-free all in all.

I don't get why when you pick up that number, they just drop the call straight away. Seems dodgy to me, like some sort of scam. Probably if you ring them back, you'll end up getting charged. I'd say it's best not to bother calling back at all.
