Honestly, I don’t get why folks are saying this is some kind of scam. I was chatting with my boyfriend when this number popped up. At first it shocked me a bit, but once I answered, I figured out he was after something I couldn’t really provide - cash. But instead, he called it a 'follow-up offer' or something like that. Somebody said they were from BT, but when I asked them to verify the postcode linked to the account, they couldn’t provide it. I ended the call straight away. Then, strangely enough, that very same number rang me again a couple of minutes later, this time claiming it was about a totally unrelated company I've got no connection with. Got a call from 0800 876 6267 with someone giving a BT account number that didn’t match mine, saying I’d missed two payments. I told them that couldn’t be right because all my BT bills go out on Direct Debit. They kept insisting I needed to set up a new Direct Debit right away anyway. I told them I thought the call sounded dodgy and just hung up.

08008766267 has been ringing me for three days straight, saying I owe some bill and that I can pay over the phone. I’ve told them every single time it’s a scam, but they just wont stop calling.

Got a call from 0800 876 6267 claiming to be BT Billing. They told me I had an unpaid bill and if I didn’t sort it out they’d cut my service off. Felt dodgy to me.

I got a ring from someone who had a distinct Indian accent, asserting they were from BT regarding an unpaid bill. When I requested the account details and my address, they couldn't provide any of that information. Instead, they insisted I had to contact a different number to inquire about this supposed debt. It's pretty obvious this is a scam!

These con artists keep switching it up, one day they say they’re from BT, then next they claim to be EE. They’re leaving messages asking to ring 08006781030 or 08702405566. Better not pick up!

They called me right when I was in the middle of something private. I picked up all embarrassed and this really polite Indian bloke was asking about some money I supposedly owed. I told him actually, he owed me money that he needed to sort out first, all the while not stopping what I was doing.

The call came across as really professional and believable. It claimed to be from BT Business, saying I needed to pay right away or my services would be limited. They left a voicemail with a callback number: 0870 240 5566. When I called back, it sounded like BT with different options, but since they asked for an account number and I didn’t have one, I just hung up. Feels like a scam to me, which is why I’m reporting it here.

Clearly they're in another time zone cos this number keeps showing up on my missed calls when I start work. I'm guessing it's probably some sort of scam.

Said she was calling from BT but the connection was so rubbish I could barely catch a word. Could hear her Indian accent and she kept saying “BT Dept collection” or something like that. I told her the line was terrible and I couldn’t understand her properly, then joked if their service was always this bad, no wonder I’m behind on my payments!! 😂

This has gotta be a scam for sure. From what I’ve seen in the notes, BT Business accounts get locked down straight away if you miss a payment deadline. If you can log into your BT Business portal, just check there and you’ll see. Definitely SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT, insisting I owed them more than a hundred quid, which seemed way too much for one bill, especially as I pay everything by direct debit. I asked her to email the bill to the address they should have on record and then ended the call. If it’s legit, I’ll expect an email. If not, fingers crossed I never have to deal with her again.

SCAM ALERT!! This site claims the number is from BT but I’m not convinced at all. Didn’t pick up and got a voicemail saying my BT business account payment was late - problem is, I’ve never even used BT or had a business account. Just deleted and blocked straight away.

This isn't one of those scam calls. It's BT Business ringing to remind you about any overdue bills. If you use BT for your business phone or internet and haven't settled your payments, you'll likely get a call from this number.
