Received a call from this number, and they specifically asked for my husband's name. When I inquired about the purpose of the call, the connection was awful, and they mentioned something about auction-related fraud. I was a bit taken aback and responded with, “What do you mean?” After they clarified it was "Action Fraud,” it seemed like they cottoned on to my hearing difficulties and abruptly ended the call. Their accent sounded distinctly South Asian, likely from the Indian subcontinent. I've done some digging online and came across some advice: don’t engage in conversations or provide any personal information. All they’ve got is your name, and they may attempt to piece together your bank details from there.

A caller with an Asian or African accent rang my husband, claiming he had been a victim of fraud regarding his bank account. However, when I answered the call, the person on the other end suddenly went quiet. This situation has caused my husband a fair bit of anxiety and worry.

A rather sluggish, Asian-sounding voice identified themselves as being from Action Fraud and inquired after my partner. Because I tend to answer every call, I responded affirmatively. They proceeded to inform me that our account had been compromised and asked if we had recently transferred any funds via Western Union or another similar service. I firmly stated no, and the caller, rather incredulously, pressed for confirmation, asking if I was absolutely certain. I reiterated my answer and promptly hung up.

I received a call from someone who spoke with an Asian accent claiming to be Tony William from Action Fraud. He asserted that he was representing a government department and that I had previously reported being scammed. He provided the phone number 03457345345 but refused to transfer me to his supervisor when I asked. Strangely, he addressed me as Mrs Brown. I informed him I would be reporting him to the authorities for attempting to con me, and he promptly ended the call. When I tried to call back using the number that appeared on my phone, 0800833834, it was unreachable.

I received a call today, the 4th of July 2019. The person on the other end had a slow, deep voice with an Asian accent, and he inquired about a scam I supposedly fell victim to a couple of months back. When I pressed him about where he got this information, he claimed it was from "your bank." I probed further and asked which bank he meant, but he couldn't get it right. That's when I decided to end the conversation. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of calls from this number!

I picked up the phone, only to be met with silence at first. Then, a voice with either a foreign or American twang asked for me by name, claiming to be conducting a fraud investigation. Just as I was about to respond, the line went dead. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
