Watch out! They ask to get into your phone and laptop and then want to charge you for setting up the router. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a call pretending to be from tech support, total scam.

This number gave me a ring today (16th Jan 2020) at 5:20 in the morning! It only called once though, and honestly, I wouldn’t pick up from a strange number so early anyway.

This morning (16/1/20) at about 5:20am, my phone showed a call from 0800 8203200. It only beeped once, so I didn't pick up - way too early for me to be answering calls from unknown numbers!

I got a call claiming to be Netgear support. They mentioned I needed to pay for assistance and that all my devices had been hacked, which immediately raised red flags. Loads of annoying pop-ups kept showing up on my computer. They even managed to get a macro installed in my Chrome browser! I ended the call straight away. After that, I looked up Netgear’s real contact number. I ended up uninstalling Chrome, and those supposed viruses just vanished. The thing that really made me doubt them was when they said my Chromebook was infected too - didn’t sound right at all.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Kaspersky support. Right away they asked me to run a netstat command, which seemed off. Then they tried to get me to accept a remote access tool from some third party - typical scammer stuff. Definitely block this number, it's dodgy!

On 12-12-2018 I received a ring from 08008203300. They claimed to be calling back from Norton security. I asked them for proof, but all they said was "Norton". I told them Norton wouldn't call me back unless I first got in touch with them. Then I just left the call on hold for around ten minutes.

I got a call from 08008203300 cause my Outlook got hacked and my password leaked or something. They said they were Outlook support and seemed proper official, so I thought it was for real since it’s Microsoft. Honestly, why doesn’t Microsoft keep an eye on stuff like this themselves? You’d think a company that big could easily set up systems to spot scams using their name. It’s mad how you can’t trust anyone these days, proper frustrating.

This number claiming to be Microsoft support is totally bogus. I’m thinking of messing with these clowns using syskey, so keep watching this page! If you’ve come across any other scam folks trying to get into your computer through TeamViewer, just give me a shout and I’ll do my best to shut them down.

I looked up a Microsoft help number and found this one. I gave it a ring and was connected to what they said was UK tech support. The guy asked to access my computer, then after poking around, he transferred me to some "network team". They told me folks were attempting to break into my PC and said I needed to buy 356 encryption, which would set me back £153. That’s when I got a bad feeling and hung up straight away.
