Got a notification about an Active Card Check for Costa, then right after, this number rang me. It seemed too coincidental to be unrelated. I got in touch with my bank using their app and they confirmed it was a scam. There’s no definite proof this number was connected, but seeing what others have said, it seems pretty suspicious.

They claimed to be from Monzo, saying it was about some suspicious activity on my account. It was obvious they'd somehow tracked my location because they knew exactly where I was! They even had part of my card number, which made it seem really convincing. It felt super dodgy though. Thankfully, I got suspicious and ended the call. They rang back right away, so I asked if it was a scam and mentioned I'd searched the number online. They hung up straight away after that. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM. If they have any of your info, best thing to do is freeze your card and sort a replacement.

Things felt off when they said they’d send a link for a video verification later on. I called them out on it and they got all defensive pretty quick. I rang Monzo myself afterwards and they told me it was definitely a scam.
