I called this number back today but didn't get the company name clearly, the bloke sounded proper baffled and said he never called me. He said he works for a genuine firm and even said sorry to me. Can people actually use someone else’s number? Is that even a thing?

I received a phone call from a lovely woman claiming to be from Sky. She was rather well-informed about my current package and when my contract was set to expire. The conversation turned to whether I was keen on adding Movies or Sports to my plan, but I wasn’t particularly interested. Interestingly, she was aware that I also subscribe to Netflix, yet she never requested any account numbers or bank details from me.

Received a rather peculiar call earlier from a woman claiming to be with Sky, offering what she said would be an improved deal. However, she couldn't give any guarantees... Quite oddly, she requested that I verify my name, the first line of my address, and my postcode. Then, to my surprise, she asked for my password! Got a call from someone saying they were from Sky, wanting to upgrade my package. I’m still only 3 months into my current deal with them and it’s already pretty good, so I thought it sounded dodgy straight away.

Some bloke said he was from Sky, trying to sort a free upgrade on my package. Then he asked if I’d given them my password or my mum’s maiden name. I just hung up, total scam.

A courteous woman reached out, claiming she wanted to assist me in refreshing my Sky account. She mentioned that I should ring her back using my Sky contact number, but then she abruptly hung up.

I received a call this afternoon from someone claiming to be with Sky, offering me an upgrade to my broadband at a lower rate. They even mentioned my name and address, which was quite unsettling. When they asked for my mother's maiden name, I knew something was off since Sky wouldn't have that info. I confronted them about it, and their response was to ask for my password instead! Naturally, I firmly said no and hung up. What a cheeky scam!

Someone called claiming to be from Sky but kept hesitating and pausing a lot. When I said I’d ring them back to talk about the deal, they just hung up on me! Feels like it was a scam to me now!!

Someone called and asked for my husband using his first name. She claimed to be from Sky. When I asked if she had his mobile number, she gave me a completely wrong number that’s nothing like ours. Definitely a scam. Watch out!

Somebody phoned claiming to be from SKY. I told him to ring back on the landline, but he said he couldn't do that. Then he said he’d give me another call after the weekend. When I asked for more info, he wouldn’t share any. Why don’t the phone companies try to stop this? Surely tracking down these people and dealing with them shouldn't be that hard!

Got a call from 08008021824 claiming to be from Sky, trying to pitch me an upgrade deal. I said no thanks, but then spotted I'd accidentally given them my mum's maiden name. After hanging up, I quickly changed my password and security details on my Sky account. Tried looking up that number on the Sky website, but no luck. A bit unsure about the whole thing, to be honest!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky, saying they could cut down my bill on the current plan. What really freaked me out was that they already had my full name, address, and even my mobile number - how did they get all that?

My phone showed it was SPAM so I just let it ring out. Came here to look it up and happy I didn’t pick up. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.
