had a ring from a couple of lads called jamie abbot and mark richards saying they were from stefan oftenbock. they told me the usual story about repaying money lost in a dodgy investment through harlequin. sounded proper convincing at first but then asked for a 10% surety bond before any cash would be sent from a bank in hong kong. cheers to everyone sharing their stories here, you lot saved me from falling for it and losing loads of money. the numbers they used were 020 3137 2822 and 0800 8021681.

Got a call from a private number, and it turned out to be from James Kiernan and Stefan Ofenbock. At the bottom of their email was the number 08008021668, which I looked up and found linked to Frank Bossuyt & Partners. They seem to be targeting people already caught up in scams like green oil plantations or harlequin, trying to buy these useless investments supposedly for the CIC (Chinese Investment Corporation). Predictably, they then ask for a surety bond to be sent via bank transfer - a classic way to squeeze more cash from those who’ve already lost plenty.

Got a call from someone named Thomas Hall, said he was with Stephan Ofenbock or something like that. They were telling me about some Chinese business trying to buy carbon credits from me, same old story. Wanted me to send an upfront payment of £2,500 as a surety bond. Feels really dodgy if you ask me. Cheers for the heads-up, folks. They also used this other number: 0203 437 2822.

I got a call from someone who called me James Kiernan and was trying to get me to sell off my harlequin stuff. He’s supposed to ring me back later today, what a nuisance. The number was 0800 802 1668.

I've already let the FEA know about them.

I’m pretty sure this is a scam. The callers say they're with a company called Stefan Ofenbock and mention something about "investments," but their info is super sketchy. They’re pushing land and carbon credit deals that aren’t regulated, and their details about the supposed “victim” are vague at best. They also claim to be FCA regulated and boast about being established for 30 years, but a quick Google search shows their website has only been live for less than a month. Just a heads up, they sometimes use the number 0203 137 2822 as well. Definitely be careful with these guys.

They rang me up claiming I could earn a big return on an investment, but then asked me to pay more than £10,000 upfront as a surety bond into some Hong Kong bank account. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it.
