Over the past few days, I've had three calls from this number but it never rings long enough for me to pick up, and they've never dropped a voicemail either. Feels like it's just some call centre making outbound calls to meet quotas or something!

I signed up for a new BT broadband and landline, and about quarter of an hour later my phone buzzed. I checked the number on 1471 and gave it a ring to see if it was BT calling. They said they weren't and when I asked if they’d rung me, they denied it. Then I queried how their number ended up on my 1471, but they didn’t seem to know. When I asked who they actually were, they claimed to be some sort of IT support or helpdesk company. Pretty odd situation!

I got a call and when I checked the number on 1471 it showed up, I figured it was from BT since I’d just been on the phone with them. But it turned out it wasn’t. They said they hadn’t actually called me and when I asked how they popped up on my 1471, they didn’t have an answer. They claimed to be some kind of IT support or helpdesk. Quite confusing!

I’ve gotten calls from this number like 5 times within the past couple days. I’m not even thinking about picking up because I’m pretty sure it’s some survey caller wanting loads of personal stuff from me that I’m not gonna give. No clue how they ended up with my number or why they won’t stop ringing. So irritating!

This is the third time I’ve been called in as many days. Can someone tell me who this is?

The calls come in about midday, between 12 and 1 pm usually. The number often shows up beginning with +0044. I won’t be picking up anymore, so I’ve blocked it now. I’m pretty sure a new one will just pop up soon enough though.
