Someone rang me saying I’d been involved in a car crash. I’ve never had a single accident here in the UK. When I asked where they got my number from, they claimed it was from some Road Traffic Accident Bureau, which I’m sure is total rubbish. Absolutely, it's a total con. I receive these blighters on my home phone regularly. It's always some pre-recorded spiel. Your internet is safe as houses, so simply ignore it. I tend to check the caller ID, and it often appears as “unavailable,” which is my cue not to pick up. I can hear the rubbish when it goes to the answering machine. They often play tricks with the number, disguising it as if it's from somewhere in the UK, but in reality, it's usually from India.

Got a solid 3 minutes out of them today. They said the crash was back in September and I’d slipped on ice (that part sounded fairly believable).
