Got a call outa the blue from someone claiming to be Boost about my prepayment meter. Asked them how they even got my details and they said the National Grid. Thing is, I’ve never had one of those meters! Proper fed up with these random cold calls and I'd really like to find out where they’re pulling my number from. I’m on the TPS supposedly, but it doesn’t seem to stop any of these annoying calls. If I want something, I’ll look it up myself - don’t want these unwelcome interruptions. Number’s blocked now.

Got a call from Michelle at Boost prepayment meters, which is connected to OVO, or so she said. She already had my name which was suspicious. When I asked how she got my number she claimed it was from the National Grid! I work at a reputable big energy firm myself and knew straight away that was just rubbish. Told her exactly that and then ended the call!

Some bloke called Elliott, probably from one of those busy call centres, rang my mobile. He started with "Hello Sabrina" which obviously isn’t my name, so I reckon it’s just a generic name they use. He said he was calling about my gas pre-payment meter, but I don’t even have one! So I just ignored it, told him where to go in a nicer way, and blocked the number. I've had a few calls like this about gas and electric before. Since I hardly ever share my mobile number, no idea how they got it - maybe a courier or something?

They were really hesitant to say who they were at first. They claimed I needed to update something by inserting my card/key into the meter. When I asked if they were from my service provider, they quickly tried to change the subject and avoid the question.
