Back in December, someone managed to take £231 off my elderly mum’s credit card without her knowing.

My elderly mum ended up getting roped into buying a service contract for her ancient washing machine, which they claimed could be fixed, but really, the parts aren’t even made anymore. They took her credit card details, then ignored my calls when I tried to get a refund. When I called back, I asked to cancel the plan as she was clearly duped. They said they’d send a cheque to sort it but it hasn’t arrived. It’s heartbreaking how some companies prey on older, vulnerable folks like this.

My elderly folks got a call asking for £63 supposedly for this year’s warranty extension on their washing machine. Luckily, no one was in at the time, or they might’ve just gone ahead and paid up. These people really know how to sound convincing. I can’t understand how someone can do that kind of job, preying on vulnerable people like it's no big deal. It’s just awful, pure scum.

A company from the UK rang my 91-year-old mum claiming her washing machine warranty was up for renewal. Thing is, she never signed up for any warranty with them in the first place and doesn’t actually need one. They were trying to trick her into paying for something she didn’t want or need. Luckily, she passed the call to me before she put her trust in them.

Had a run-in with UK Service Group and honestly, don’t bother. They push some pretty aggressive phone sales tactics and it ended up costing me £99 just to try and get my money back. Would definitely steer clear of these lot.

Received a call from some UK service maintenance lot trying to get me to set up a direct debit for appliance insurance. They said they'd send all the info, but never did. I checked online and couldn’t find anything either. In the end, I cancelled the direct debit and called my bank to sort it out.

Some woman named Chloe rang me up claiming my washing machine insurance had run out. I didn’t have the docs nearby to double-check, but she sounded pretty legit, so I went ahead and renewed it for another couple of years. She gave me this phone number and told me to create a password or something. Said she worked for a place called Service U.K. I’m planning to call that number back on Monday, but I’ve got a feeling I’ve been scammed out of £98. Better get in touch with my bank straight away.

Absolute con artists, I’d say! They go by the name of Uk Service Maintenance Group Ltd, and rang me up with an offer for insurance. However, when I did some digging, it turned out they aren’t even regulated by the FCA, which means they have no legal grounds to be selling insurance in the first place! Really dodgy behaviour, if you ask me.

They’re not actually Santander. It’s some outfit called UK Service Maintenance Group Ltd, and they ring up trying to push insurance on you. They’re not even FCA regulated, so be careful - they’re a total SCAM!!!
