The message left claimed to be from the DWP in Warrington, saying that some correspondence they sent had bounced back due to a mismatch in address details. They asked me to return the call at the same number. However, I have a couple of observations: firstly, the actual number for the Warrington office is 0800731, not 721 7898. Secondly, they don’t operate on Saturdays, so this just seems a bit dodgy, doesn’t it?DWPWarrington5 yearsI received a call from 0800 023 2076, which I missed. They left a voicemail urging me to ring 0800 721 7898, but that number flagged up as potentially fraudulent. Naturally, I rang the first number, and it sounded somewhat credible at first. However, after doing a bit of research online, I discovered many folks deem it suspicious. Today, the same individual called back from 0800 023 2076, claiming to represent the DWP. When I quizzed him about which address he was calling from, he was at a complete loss for words. I concluded this had to be a scam and promptly ended the call. I suppose I might end up getting another call, but I doubt it.
