Honestly, the best thing I found to put an end to this rubbish was getting a call blocker, like BT’s call guardian. Before I got a new phone, I was getting loads of calls - more than 500! One day alone I counted 15 from "Talk Talk technical team". Now, with the new phone, it just rings once on my old corded landline and then nothing. I’m pretty certain my number must’ve been sold on at some point.

Got a call today from someone who said his name was David. He claimed he was doing some work for BT near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, mentioning the Harborne Exchange. He told me there was an issue with my BT internet and modem. When I asked a few questions, he didn’t seem pleased and just ended the call.

Got a call earlier today on my home phone from someone claiming to be from Talk Talk’s tech support, said they were from some Asian or Indian team and needed to get onto my computer to ‘update my package.’ Yeah, right. Told them to jog on and made sure to alert Talk Talk’s security about it. Also, blocked the number straight away. I get that the phone companies must be working to catch these scammers, but seriously, why is it taking forever? And how come this number’s still active when there are loads of reports about it right here on this site? Frustrating.

An elderly neighbour of mine got a call from a woman speaking with an Asian accent when I was visiting. She said she was from BT Open Reach and claimed there was an issue with the broadband. Since my broadband was fine, I told her my neighbour doesn’t even use the internet, so it was just a nuisance call and to leave us alone. I’ve looked up the number since then to double check, because I doubt he could tell if it was a legit BT call or a scam. This is just wrong and should be stopped.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Openreach, who mentioned that my internet connection was getting an upgrade.
