If you get a text saying it’s from Argos and asking you to ring them about your account, don’t bother calling that number. It’s definitely a scam.

So I got a message saying I had to call this number straight away about my store card. It also mentioned my Argos account or something like that. I had a look on the Argos app and everything seemed fine with my account. Instead of calling the number in the text, I dialled the one on the back of my Argos card. Turns out, the first number was definitely a scam.

Just got a call saying, "We urgently need to discuss your store card account, please ring us back on 08006890775 or +448006890775." Problem is, I don’t even have an Argos card! Sounds dodgy to me, definitely a scam. I’m with giffgaff, does anyone else use them? I’m wondering if they’re somehow sharing our numbers or how these scammers are getting hold of them. Would be good to find out what's going on.
