Is this message legitimate? Will responding incur any charges for us? Eliz from Gumtree is keen to chat and potentially meet up. The text says to reply with YES to connect immediately! But then there's a mention of 08006800764, and I see something about £3 per message and £5 per week for the service. What’s the deal with that?

I've been getting these unsolicited messages that read: "Greetings Rich! It's Chantal from FLIRTO. Fancy a chat and possibly arranging a meet-up? If you're keen, just text YES to connect with me right away! Oh, and it's coming from SAFEDIVERT 08006800764. To stop these messages, text quit. Each message will set you back £1.50." Quite the nuisance, isn't it?

I’m experiencing the same situation. I’m really pleased we took the time to look up that number and stumbled upon this site. I’ll be reaching out to our telecom provider shortly to get some guidance!

We received the exact same message.

I reckon this lot is merely pulling a fast one to line their pockets. Absolutely nothing about it was genuine!

Received a call from them as well, and now a good portion of our credits seem to have vanished into thin air. Does anyone happen to know if there's a way to recover this? Orange appears completely indifferent, almost as if they couldn't care less. Could it be possible that there's some sort of arrangement benefiting these callers?

Received a peculiar text: "FREE MESSAGE" - it’s Barbara from GUMTREE looking to chat and possibly arrange a meeting. To get in touch, just reply with YES! It's from SAFEDIVERT, and the number’s 080068007642. Oh, and seems like them texting you in a month will cost £5 for the messages! What a strange setup!

GBP3 per text means three quid a message, and GBP5 per week works out to five quid altogether. Ouch! Fingers crossed that the message to quit didn’t cost anything, or at least went out at the standard text message rate. While calls to 0800 numbers are usually free, just to be on the safe side, it’d be wise to use a payphone for that call!

Received a rather peculiar text today: FREE MESSAGE. It reads: "Hello D, it's Amber Samantha from Gumtree. She's keen to chat and possibly arrange a meet-up. Reply YES to get in touch right away! Safedivert 080068007642. Should you wish to stop these texts, simply reply quit. Note there’s a charge of £1.50. Sender's number is 80200, and the message centre is +447802000332." Quite the strange occurrence, don’t you think?

SAFEDIVERT 080068007642 endtxt quit GBP 1.50 MSG Sender: 80200 msg Centre: +447802000332. We have strong suspicions this might be a scam perpetrated by Amber!

I’ve just received this rather peculiar text: FREE MESSAGE Hi there, it's Trix from TAGGED looking to chat and possibly meet up. If you're keen, just text YES to get in touch! The number is 080068007642. To opt out, text quit. Charges apply - GBP3 per message, GBP5 subscription per week. Sender seems to be 80200, and the message centre is +447802000332. Very odd, if you ask me!

Blimey, we were caught out by this! Hadn't a clue that GBP3MSG and GBP5PW were actually referring to the charges. It feels like they designed the pricing to be all hush-hush and tricky. Can you believe it? A whopping £700, yes, that’s right, 700 pounds! We're feeling like right muppets for getting taken in by this dodgy scheme. We're adamant we won't be settling that bill, so we're keen to know where we stand legally on this. Has anyone got any suggestions?

I must reach out to Candace; I've got a credit limit in place, so I can't send texts or make calls. Would you be able to drop her a message on my behalf? Cheers!

Hi there! We're keen to find out when someone has truly managed to put an end to these pesky messages. Does sending "STOP" actually do the trick? And what about "STOP ALL"? Which option is the preferred one? Honestly, we're not bothered about paying a few quid to stop them, as long as these messages finally cease. Cheers!

Absolutely, we're currently getting the same messages repeatedly, and it feels rather off, to be honest. We've already explained to the lady a couple of times what our business is and where we're located, yet she keeps asking the same daft questions. We just hopped online to verify the text messaging rates, and we're fairly confident it's no less than a quid a message. Cheers!

I've recently uncovered some information about this particular company. It turns out it's a non-adult chat line. They seem to lure unsuspecting individuals through various platforms like TAGGED, Myspace, GUMTREE, and others. You might receive a message from what appears to be a stunning lady asking for your number so that she can give you a call. Once you share your digits, you’ll start receiving all sorts of annoying messages like the ones previously mentioned. The name of this conversation service is DIALOG Conversation Services, and their contact number is 08717002211. Be cautious, folks!

Received a peculiar message just now.

We're trying to get in touch as we've been promised a call back from these folks within the next fortnight. Yet, here we are, and not a peep has come through. Our bill's climbing close to £400 now, and we're left wondering if they could have reached out to discuss a potential reduction? It's all rather frustrating, honestly. If anyone needs to get hold of us regarding this issue, they can do so at [email protected]. Honestly, we’re feeling quite overwhelmed and are at a bit of a loss on how we’re meant to settle this amount.

We are quite displeased to discover that we've been charged £5 for each of the four peculiar text messages we've received, adding up to a total of £20. To clarify, we never consented to any subscription service. After reaching out to our mobile provider for assistance, they advised us to text 'STOP ALL' to the number 80177, and we have duly complied.

Feeling rather foolish, I must admit. I’ve been taken in once more. We oughtn’t have responded to that message. Now we’re at a bit of a loss trying to figure out how to settle our bill!

I strongly advise against replying to any of their messages. They will persistently pester you, hoping to draw you into a conversation. It’s important to simply ignore them entirely. We’ve already forked out £75 to these folks, and all we seek is guidance on how to escalate this matter.

Absolutely the same experience! It definitely stirred us from our slumber!

I can't believe what a con this turned out to be! Heads up, everyone-each message sets you back £3! Yes, you heard right-a whopping three quid per text. We ended up being charged over a hundred! Do yourself a favour and steer clear of this so-called service. Apparently, the operation is based in the Philippines. What a crafty scam!

This is definitely a warning from me! I've had my suspicions for a while now - there's something decidedly dodgy going on here. It’s apparent that these folks somehow acquired your number via one of those Cupid Media platforms. So, a word of caution: if you're navigating the waters of Amur, keep your digits to yourself! There's a nagging feeling that the website itself could be involved in facilitating this scam in some manner. Stay vigilant!

Bloody hell, we’re getting the same messages repeatedly right now, and it’s all rather odd. We’ve told this woman a couple of times about our line of work and our whereabouts, yet she keeps asking us the same daft questions. Just hopped online to check our message fees, and I reckon they’re certainly no less than a quid per text. Cheers!

I received a call from these folks as well, and it seems like a significant portion of our credit has vanished. Has anyone experienced something similar and managed to recover their funds? Orange is being quite unhelpful and seems utterly disinterested in the matter. I can't help but wonder if there's something more nefarious at play here-could they be getting a kickback from this situation?
