Got a couple of texts from National Grid (or was it Western Power before?) saying there’d be a power outage around here, then another one saying it’s back on. We did have a power cut, but the link they sent didn’t work at all. Power went off for maybe 5 minutes, but weirdly both messages came through after the electricity was already back. This number’s listed on their official site, and I’m signed up since we need power for important meds in the fridge.

I got a message that claimed to be from the National Grid saying our electricity had been fixed, but the weird thing is it came about two hours after the supposed power was restored, and it included our full postcode. We never actually lost power anyway. The logo on the text didn’t match the official National Grid one on their site. There was a link in the message that looked legit (didn't risk clicking it but checked it out on a search), which said no outages at all in my area. Sounds to me like someone’s just messed up rather than it being some kind of scam.

Got a text from this number saying "Hello, this is National Grid" offering assistance regardless of the weather, with a link included. I've always thought that UK Power Networks supplies our electricity, so I'm a bit confused about what National Grid has to do with me and why they’re offering help. Feels a bit fishy, so I won’t be clicking that link. If it’s really from the folks managing electricity transmission to my place, then they really need to clear up who’s responsible for what and who owns who, otherwise it’s hard to trust these providers.

Honestly, there should be some checking on these reviews becuase this is a real number. Western Power or National Grid handle the Midlands, Wales and the South West regions. They never say they are your actual energy supplier.

Got a message from this number saying some engineer came to my place and sorted out an issue. Thing is, A) I’ve no problems at all B) no one’s been here C) I never called anyone and didn’t even reply to the text D) we’re with Western Power so wouldn’t have contacted anyone like this. During the storm, our electricity went out so I called the power company to report it. They rang me back later from a number that I checked on their official site and also saw that same number listed in the Yellow pages advert. So, it was definitely a real call from them.

The text said it was from “Western Power,” but I’ve never come across that company before. As far as I know, this place is all run by Northern Gas/Power, so it’s a bit suspicious. I’m not sure if I should trust it or not. I checked with a few of my neighbours and nobody’s lost power, so I reckon it might be a scam trying to get me to call them or something. Very dodgy if you ask me.
