The number belongs to Alexandria and Dumbarton TOA Limited. When you call this number, it says "Thank you for calling Trident Taxis," but when you get through to the lady on the other end after some music and ask to speak to one of the directors of Trident Taxis Limited, they tell you that this person does not own the company, as Alan Wright bought them out a few years ago. Interestingly, when I contacted the real company on 01436 678888, I was able to speak to an actual director from Companies House. However, this fake company based in Alexandria, which does not have any operators’ licences outside West Dunbartonshire Council to control taxis or private hire vehicles, insists that they can operate outside their council. Even their drivers who are on their TOA, Wright's booking system in Helensburgh, tell passengers they work for Trident Taxis, but the sign on the roof of their taxis says TOA and 67-33-33 on the back of the roof sign. Even the business cards have incorrect colours and wrong phone numbers on them. So why are they pretending to be a legitimate company with a UK registered trademark for the term Trident Taxis? It looks like they are duping customers to get bookings from the real company, paying this Alexandria company £100 per week per driver to be on their system. Furthermore, the said company has no operators' booking office licence from Argyll and Bute Council and no office in said council, which is a legal requirement under civic licensing law.
