My other half got a couple of calls on his mobile from this number right after we sorted out our building insurance with Santander for another year. The odd thing is, I usually handle all this stuff so Santander only has my info and the landline, not his mobile. So I'm thinking this is either a scam or they've somehow leaked personal info, but I can't see them going to the trouble when they could just ring me instead.

I received a call from this number earlier today, but unfortunately missed it! Upon searching for the number, I found your comment. Interestingly, I had a similar experience not long ago with another number that also warned about tax fraud and the police. Quite suspicious, isn't it?

On the 11th of June, I received a call at 7:15 in the evening. The caller asked me to verify my name, which I found a bit odd. Then, they inquired whether I’d received a letter from Santander bank. Initially, I said I hadn't, but shortly after, I located the letter and confirmed it to him. He seemed pleased with that. However, I couldn’t shake off my uneasiness and genuinely think it might be a spam call.

Some bloke with a thick Irish accent rang my elderly mum from this number earlier, claiming he was from the Inland Revenue. Luckily, I’d warned her about stuff like this before, so she just ended the call and passed me the number to look up. So yeah, watch out - this is definitely a scam.

Got two calls from this number today. The first one was around 5:36pm, I missed it but didn’t hear my phone ring even tho my ringer’s pretty loud. Then they called again just after 7 in the evening, and once again, no ring heard, was just chilling watching TV. Pretty sure I’ve had calls from this number before as well. Didn’t notice till I checked my call log earlier while I was out and saw two missed calls. From what I’m seeing here, glad I didn’t answer. Definitely blocking it now.

Keep in mind that scammers can pretend to be real businesses by faking their numbers. Don’t ever share your details or agree to anything over the phone if you didn’t expect the call. If it sounds like it’s from a company you trust, hang up and ring them back on the official number you have on your documents. Better to wait a bit or use a different phone before calling, just to be safe.

Someone pretending to be from Santander rang me, asking if I’d got my home insurance papers. I didn’t share any details and rang Santander back on their official number, who confirmed it was a scam. They’re banking on people accidentally revealing info. What puzzles me is how these scammers even know who my providers are.
