I received a robocall claiming to be from the Fraud Department of Santander. A quick search revealed that this number isn't anywhere in their official directory. Seems like it’s likely a scam attempt!

Got a call from a robotic voice claiming to be from Santander’s fraud team. The weird thing is, the number it gave didn’t match the official one on their website. I did a quick check and even though Santander pops up when you google that number, the real fraud department’s contact is completely different. If you’re unsure, always ring the genuine Santander fraud line instead of trusting the number from the automated message.

Without a doubt, this is a con! It’s quite sophisticated, yet still a trick. If you search for this number on Google, it even links to the Santander website, giving it an air of authenticity. When they ring you up, they sound convincing too, but don’t be fooled-just end the call and ring Santander directly using the customer service number found on the back of your card. That's by far the most secure route to take.
