Got calls on my mobile and landline just a few minutes apart this afternoon. On my mobile, there was this automated recording claiming to be from Santander’s "Fraud Prevention Department" and saying I needed to ring back and punch in a 3-digit PIN to prove my identity - obviously trying to sound legit. I phoned the official Santander number linked to my accounts and they assured me there’s no fraud or anything suspicious going on. Honestly, these scammers are the worst and should be punished harshly, along with their families. What’s worse is that both my numbers are on the TPS list!

I got a text claiming to be from Santander, saying there’d been some transactions on my account. They wanted me to reply with 'Y' if I authorised them and 'N' if not. I did respond, and shortly after I received another message with a three-digit security code, instructing me to call them using the number they provided. I decided to email my bank instead, and they replied, alerting me that there’s been a surge in fraudulent activity lately. After doing a bit of digging online about the phone number, I’m definitely not going to call back! Interestingly, they mentioned a specific eBay transaction along with the amount, which got me thinking-perhaps my eBay account has been compromised!

Received a rather dodgy voicemail purporting to be from the fraud department of Santander. It was all automated and a bit too slick. To top it off, I got a text on my mobile claiming that someone was making sneaky withdrawals from my account abroad. Naturally, I rushed to the nearest cash machine to check my balance, and thankfully, everything seemed in order. I reached out to Santander directly, only to learn they had no idea about the number and advised that it was likely a scam. Their recommendation was clear: block the number and move on. Don’t engage with those calls!
