Got calls on my mobile and landline just a few minutes apart this afternoon. On my mobile, there was this automated recording claiming to be from Santander’s "Fraud Prevention Department" and saying I needed to ring back and punch in a 3-digit PIN to prove my identity - obviously trying to sound legit. I phoned the official Santander number linked to my accounts and they assured me there’s no fraud or anything suspicious going on. Honestly, these scammers are the worst and should be punished harshly, along with their families. What’s worse is that both my numbers are on the TPS list!

Got a text claiming to be from Santander, saying loads of payments had gone through on my account. They asked me to reply Y if I’d made them, or N if not. I did reply, then they texted again with a three-digit security code and told me to ring them back on that same number. I shot them an email instead, and they replied saying there’s been loads of scams going on recently. I looked up the number online, which led me to post this. There’s no way I’m calling that number! Weirdly, they mentioned an eBay purchase I did and the amount, so maybe eBay got hacked or something!

Got a robo call supposedly from Santander’s fraud team. After that, I got a text on my phone saying someone was using my card abroad to take money from my account without permission. I quickly checked my card at a cash point nearby and there was no issue at all. When I rang Santander, they said that number isn’t theirs and warned me it was a scam. They told me not to answer any calls from it and just block the number straight away. Better safe than sorry!
